The Economist weekly news magazine put on the cover of its new issue a caricature, which depicts Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President-elect Donald Trump, leader of the French National Front Marine Le Pen and head of the UK Independence Party Nigel Farage.
Text on the cover reads: “New Nationalism.” The issue of the magazine also offers its readers a similarly-named article, which reads that nationalistic sentiments embrace more and more countries, which have a pessimistic look at international relations. According to the author of the article, the US, Russia, China and Turkey are among such states.

Another article of the new issue is devoted to Marine Le Pen, who heads the extreme right-wing party in France. The piece, titled “Europe’s biggest populist danger,” reads that the “march of close-the-borders populism” trampled liberal values. The author cites as examples the voting for Brexit, which took place in June, and the unexpected election of Trump as the head of the US, as surveys and media predicted that the candidate of the Democratic Party, Hillary Clinton, will be elected.
The Economist is famous for its controversial articles and occasionally harsh images on the covers. So, in October of this year, the magazine offered leave a corridor for terrorists of the Islamic State (IS) group in order to let them to escape from Mosul and “save themselves in Syria.” The cover was ‘decorated’ with an image of Putin with red fighter jets instead of apples of his eyes.

The Economist is the spokesman for malignant corporatism and government by CEO. Exactly what the majority of citizens in the above mentioned nations abhor. In different ways, the leaders mentioned reflect the sentiments of their people unlike governing from the boardroom.
