Strikes on Russia
On New Year’s Eve, the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) launched a massive attack on Russia with missiles and drones, 68 of which were shot down by the early morning of December 31. Eight regions were under attack at once.
The Bryansk Region was targeted most of all by UAVs. 25 drones were shot down. There was also a massive attack on Crimea. 17 drones were destroyed there. Another 11 – over the territory of the Krasnodar territory, 10 – over the Smolensk Region, two – over the Tver Region, and one each over the territories of the Rostov, Kursk, and Kaluga Regions.
Besides, the UAF used drones to attack a fuel and energy complex facility in Yartsevsky District of the Smolensk Region. Air defense systems intercepted most of the UAVs, nevertheless the oil depot was struck, and it caused a fire.
Apart from this, Ukraine staged a combined attack on Sevastopol. The strikes were carried out both from the air and from the sea. Air defense units shot down several drones, and the Black Sea Fleet sailors destroyed several uncrewed boats attempting to break into the bay.
In the first minutes of the New Year, on the night of January 1, Ukraine launched missile strikes on the Belgorod, Kursk Rostov and Astrakhan Regions.
The most memorable moment of the Day was a fake video shown by Volodymyr Zelensky in his New Year’s speech. He passed off footage of a South Korean Hyunmoo-2A ballistic missile launch as a Ukrainian short-range ballistic missile system Sapsan.

Strikes on Ukraine
The Russian Armed Forces (RAF) responded with a massive missile strike against Ukraine. The missiles used were the Iskander, Kh-22/32, Kh-69, and a hypersonic Kinzhal.

On December 30, after hacking into Ukrainian television signals and “warning” of the hypersonic “Oreshnik” missile strikes, certain missile blows were carried out across Ukraine against Kremenchug and Pavlograd, as well as the Kiev Region. To all appearances, we have witnessed one of the first effective joint operations of the RAF, not only of a combat but also of an informational kind.
According to the pro-Russian underground, the strike on the Pavlograd plant, where missiles are assembled and where the Ukrainian military is trained to use NATO equipment, hit exactly the target.
About ten pieces of equipment and a group of Ukrainian servicemen were struck in the town of Shostka in the Sumy Region. It is reported that the strikes on Shostka were carried out by eight TU-22M aircraft.
On the morning of December 31, the Russian military conducted a combined blow with high-precision weapons and combat drones on the infrastructure of a military airfield, as well as a military-industrial complex enterprise producing gunpowder charges for the UAF. All targets were destroyed.
A single strike was made against a military base in Akhtyn District, the Sumy Region, where the Ukrainian forces are regrouping.
A series of attacks were carried out in the area of a railway depot near Kremenchuk, where UAVs were presumably being assembled.
Another series of missile strikes on targets in Odessa are reported by local Telegram channels.
An air alert was also announced in Kiev and its outskirts. The Kh-69 and Kinzhal missiles hit a certain target in Vasilkov, just outside the Ukrainian capital. The pro-Russian underground claims that the strike was made three times in the same direction and hit the headquarters of the UAF or NATO military.

The Ukrainian Air Force reports that in the sky above the capital over the past 24 hours they managed to shoot down one Kh-47M2 Kinzhal missile, five Kh-69 cruise missiles, and 16 UAVs.
According to the Russian defense ministry, just in the past couple of days, operational-tactical aviation, combat drones, missile forces and artillery hit a Ukrainian ammunition manufacturing facility, storage depots for combat drones, as well as concentrations of Ukrainian troops and military equipment in 138 areas.
