The Newest Ukrainian Technologies: Attack Helicopter Equipped with a Kitchen Chimney

This latest Ukrainian attack helicopter has apparently become a laughing stock online. This ‘latest technology’ helicopter is nothing but a shameless copy of the Soviet Mi-2 helicopter. The Soviet Mi-2 helicopter entered production in 1965 and subsequently went out of production in 1998.

This new attack helicopter was recently presented in Ukraine and will soon be commissioned to fight along side their National Guard. The helicopter is also equipped with a machine gun, grenade launchers and air-to-ground unguided rockets. The left exhaust pipe is covered with something that resembles a chimney. This really innovative design approach has already caused a flurry of jokes.

The Mi-2 is a very old design and has long been obsolete. But this is not the first time that Ukraine has unveiled such bizarre designs. Previously, Ukraine unveiled its ‘First People’s Tank’ which was actually crowd funded online – definitely a first for a tank. The project has so far been scrapped.

The armored car ‘Cougar’ made a lot of news when it was first introduced. Essentially a re-purposed Japanese SUV fitted with about 2 tons of reinforced armor, this vehicle could only move on asphalt roads. The smallest bumps in the road often turned into Mount Everest for this vehicle. It didn’t take long for the fighters of DPR to capture 2 of these Cougars intact.

The most important military upgrade:
