Ukraine is facing the risk of losing five towns on the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic: Chasov Yar, Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and Velyka Novosilka.
In Chasov Yar fierce urban fights are taking place. Russian troops are trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from the territory of the refractory plant, which is one of the main defense points in the town. About 800 Ukrainian soldiers and officers, as well as foreign mercenaries from the European Union and Latin America, are trapped on the territory of the plant.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ (UAF) defenses seem to be falling apart amid dense and fierce fighting for the plant. Meanwhile, the Russian Armed Forces (RAF) are having notable successes on the flanks. Russian assault units are pushing through enemy defenses in the Severny neighborhood and have also cleared the forest near the Novy neighborhood, which gives them the opportunity to enter the town from the south.
In Kurakhove, the situation for the UAF is also deteriorating. The Russian Army is cutting the kill area into “half-pockets”, which will soon become mousetrap. The first real pocket for the Ukrainians will be exactly in this direction, as the UAF command does not give permission to leave the settlements that are already in the operational encirclement.
The reserves that Volodymyr Zelensky and his General Staff are shifting to this direction are quickly burning up. Many Ukrainian servicemen refuse to go there, as the chances of staying alive for at least two weeks are “zero”. The Russian Army may start encircling the Ukrainian forces northwest of Kurakhove.
Russian multiple rocket launchers with thermobaric warheads TOS-1A Solntsepyok hit the temporary deployment points of the Ukrainian Armed Forces amid the offensive from Ugledar to Kurakhove. To block the UAF’s escape routes, Russian soldiers are mining the territories with rockets filled with explosives.
The Ukrainian command is already busily evacuating the forces of the Kurakhove garrison, as well as military property, headquarters and other things. In the city itself, Russian troops have advanced along Soborny Avenue.
In the Pokrovsk direction, on December 7, information began to appear about a rapid advance of the Russian units, which reached the outskirts of Novotroitskoye (located 15 kilometers from Pokrovsk /Krasnoarmeysk/). Ukrainian forces are leaving Novotroitskoye and retreating to neighboring Uspenovka.
Destruction of Ukrainian materiel
North of Uspenovka, the Russian Armed Forces entrenched themselves along the forest belts to a depth of up to 2 kilometers.

In Myrnohrad, a settlement located 15 kilometers east of Pokrovsk, the situation for the Ukrainian side has drastically deteriorated. The UAF even blew up the shaft of the Tsentralnaya (Central) mine on Shosseynaya Street in the town.
In Velyka Novosilka, the Ukrainian forces have had their supply cut off. There is fighting in the settlement itself, and to the south of the village the RAF captured Blagodatnoye, which is closely adjacent to the last fortification in this area.
Political consequences
The Ukrainian experts have commented on the recent visit of Andriy Yermak, who runs Volodymyr Zelensky’s wartime presidential office, and his team to the USA. The director of the Kiev-based Institute of World Politics, Eugeny Magda, said:
“I understand that Ukraine is tired of hostilities, but such a visit to the USA may show our weakness against the Russian position”.
It is not yet clear whether the Kiev authorities will go into opposition to US Republican President Donald Trump. However, Ukrainian Telegram channels are already speculating about how many Verkhovna Rada deputies may flee the country before May 2025 if there is no peace process. If Zelensky’s team derails Trump’s peace initiatives by escalating the war, many people will realize that Ukraine is “ready” for disaster, so deputies will flee to avoid becoming scapegoats.
MORE ON THE TOPIC:
is going to be a great christmas for putin and russia, and a disaster for zelenskyy his nato masters and poor ukrainians.
they’ll be too busy shivering to notice it.
the problem with president putin is that he never finishes anything. he has let russia’s conflict with ukraine, which should have ended in three weeks go on for three years and talks about ending it with negotiations, in which he will again be deceived.
he does nothing while the us tries to overthrow the georgian government and establish a hostile anti-russian one.
he never finished clearing syria of hostile forces. consequently, he left syria and russian interests exposed to the current us/israeli coordinated mercenary attack on syria, which has overrun aleppo, syria’s second largest city, forcing 280,000 syrians to flee. this is a massive defeat for syria and russia. how is it possible that such an obvious thrust was a surprise? has the inability to perceive threats become a russian hallmark?
will putin ever understand the consequences of his inaction, his tolerance of endless provocations, of us hegemonic intentions against russia, iran, and china? what factual basis exists for putin and lavrov to think that washington’s hegemonic intention will fade away? is russia’s foreign policy based on hope or on reality?
putin’s inaction has convinced the west that he will not act. this belief deprives the west of a reason to stop its provocations. putin has again validated the west’s belief by cancelling any western restraint from lowering the threshold of russia’s use of nuclear weapons by giving assurances that russia is threatening no one with nuclear weapons. the west has crossed “all” red lines set by putin and putin still sets on his hands..!!!
everything you talk about is fly droppings compared to what the western leadership has done. the entire syrian situation was originally armed and engineered by the west. likewise the entire ukrainian conflict. angela merkel admitted in 2022 that europe needed war, francois hollande confirmed it publicly. everything else is propaganda
“should have ended in three weeks”
they never set a timeline though. the days or weeks it “should have taken” were peddled by the west.
true, but the expectation was that the ukrainians would not fight back, but would arrest zelensky himself, whose power is illegal. since 2014, the coup government’s power has been illegal and has been recognized in ukraine. the cia and nato had secretly armed ukraine for war.
shekelensky is an actor playing a role, he will just go to his malibu mansion or italian wine estate after his act🍷🍇🍷
this deserves an own entry in the guinness book! i think not even the french were such losers.
more importantly is the next step, has kiev set up another defensive line or is this the end✌️🤫👊
with what? bitchute just showed the most disturbing video of a kid kicking and screaming while he was manhandled into a van with arms and legs flailing about while his mother tried to intervene. frankly, it looked like something out of a sci fi horror movie, with warlocks appearing on earth and snatching human fodder.
that kid”ll be too scared to frag an officer or two but he’ll be the first to surrender and spill his guts on all troop positions he knows of.
ukraine’s kaput.
true ukrainian patriots only divulge name, rank, serial number and anything else russia wants to know.
well, they issued a contract for it but it seems the monies paid have ended up in an offshore account that no one seems to be able to trace.
it seems líeutenant-colonel vladímir vladimirovích putín ís going to get the last laugh on ukraíne, the us and nato.
syria is kaput. now is time to carve up ukraine. what is good for the goose is good for the gander.
now that thaqi the snake is an indicted war criminal, it;s time to pass the nick to erdogan the snake.
since syria is finish i would rather see sultan erdougan ruling all of syria rather than the wahhabi terrorists in the west and the backstabbing kurd terrorists in the east.
…no one will rule in syria, if bashar is removed, the “peace terrorists” supported by erdo will continue to move to iraq to increase the sunni wedge between shiite tehran and beirut! then they will occupy iran for years, until they will start fighting among themselves!
libya let’s say hello
and to think, bush’s neocons started it all with their grand israeli plan to invade iraq and depose all sunni, not bothering to think two steps ahead about the shi’a crescent that would form afterwards. chalabi? he made bush into the world’s biggest sucker. true, not hard but he had to convince his neoconniver squad too.
these neocons are too stupid and nasty to run a geopolitical strategy. all they can run is one shitshow after another.
p…n’s russia is garbage. their excuses to cover up their disaster in syria and the middle east are cringeworthy: 5 cities like damascus, hama, aleppo, homs,???
okay expert….
impossible a small russ drone stop a big rail diesel locomotive. as evidence it looks like a miss and there is no after pics so it was definitely miss as too embarassed to show the drone miss.
okay expert…
syria is finished for russia. syria is now pro turkiye and us. soon g7 leaders gonna travel to syria to hug the new leader of that country. what is happening in kursk, seems no more news now from there.
russia needs to find another stalin conquering a refractory plant while losing five big cities including damascus should be really making the news for patriotic russians, send putin the jew on a plane to tell aviv where he belongs
cry harder about syria. has nothing to do with the humiliating situation in ukraine for the us, nato and zelensky
