On June 5, unidentified gunmen attacked a military vehicle of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in the eastern Daraa countryside.
According to local sources, the gunmen targeted the vehicle as it was passing on a road between the towns of Gharaz and Om Elmiathin. Two service members were killed and a third one was injured.
The killed soldiers were identified as Ahmad Nuri and Hussam Dahbor. Both soldiers were serving in the ranks of the 4th Division. This was the second attack on 4th Division personnel in Daraa during the last ten days. On May 31, a 4th Division soldier was assassinated in Daraa’s city center.
The attacks are apparently meant to deter the SAA, which amassed a large strike force in Daraa in the last few weeks. The army is preparing to launch a large-scale security operation in the governorate. The 4th Division, which established several checkpoints in northeast Daraa recently, will reportedly play a key role in the operation.
I wonder if they are ot the Assads will take Golan:(
We will all remember a British SAS trooper illegally operating in Syria a few weeks ago who was wounded whilst ‘assisting ‘ the rebel terrorists in Daraa and a British clandestine rescue mission to get the trooper out of Syria.
The SAS operate with groups of four troopers, or multiples of these close knit teams in most such operations.
Still no members from the 5th army corps have been killed or assassinated, just the pro Iranian 4th division soldiers. Sadly no ones getting the message yet, which means the people that are killing the 4th division soldiers are just going to shout even louder now, which also sadly means more soldiers from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd army corps [4th division] will be killed like this. Come on Assad, with all the latest Israeli airstrikes the locals are finding even more reason to get angry with Iran, eventually they’ll have even more in common with the Israelis than they do with you, so don’t let that happen, Syria is Syria it’s not a part of Iran, listen to the locals, they’re your people and they’re scared.
