Three Syrian Service Members Killed In New Greater Idlib Attack

Support SouthFront

On September 23, three service members of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) were killed as a result of a new attack in the northwestern region of Greater Idlib.

Syrian pro-government sources identified the three slain service members as “Yaub Rahal,” “Sharaf al-Ali” and “Yazan Abdullah.”

Three Syrian Service Members Killed In New Greater Idlib Attack

“Yaub Rahal,” “Sharaf al-Ali” and “Yazan Abdullah.”

According to opposition sources, the three service members were killed near the town of Kafr Battikh in southern Idlib. Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allies in the so-called “al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room” shelled SAA positions in the region earlier.

In the last few weeks, several SAA service members were killed or injured in Greater Idlib. The region’s militants even claimed on September 22 that they killed a Russian Special Forces operator.

These repeated attacks are a blatant violation of the Russian-Turkish agreement on Greater Idlib that was reached on March 5.

The SAA and the Russian Aerospace Forces are responding to these violations with artillery and air strikes. However, the militants are still carrying out attacks. This may soon force the army and its allies to resume ground operations in the region.

“This may soon force the army and its allies to resume ground operations in the region” Been reading this sentence for almost the past 3 months lol. I hope it turns out true though.

Furkan Sahin

the three soldiers do not look experienced and strong you are not strong enough attacking against Idlib the three soldiers must go down and war against Isis in the desert

Cromwell

That ceasefire has cost many lives and it will cost more.

HiaNd

There is no such thing as ceasefire. That is low intensity conflict. They use artillery against each other every day.

Sauron

Did they die right after the photo was taken? cuz only 3 in a picture and all died in a same attack

Jens Holm

There can be many guessings. I would say they were member of the same unit and thats why that “familily portrait” was taken” and maybee all had a copy.

If You show that picture to Your family, they can see who You are with and probatly tell about.

How many terrorist die everyday?…I see the Syria map and only part of Idlib and small part in Aleppo are under terrorist control…five years ago SAA only had control of less than 20% of the country..

“Al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham and its allies in the so-called “al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room” shelled SAA positions in the region earlier.”

Poo poo HTS gets blamed again, but I’ll bet it wasn’t HTS doing the shelling, I’ll bet it would’ve been one of the 2 other groups that belong to the alliance, either the NFL or Jaysh al-Izza, but HTS is always lumped in as being guilty too if one of these 2 other alliance factions attack the SAA, regardless of the real facts. Jaysh al-Izza may be part of the alliance but they don’t like HTS at all, it’s only a marriage of convenience. And the other alliance member is the NFL, one of the Turkish backed [so called] moderate opposition forces that is legally protected by the Astana agreements [HTS isn’t]. They’re Turkey’s premier fighting force in Syria, they get the best of everything from Turkey [the golden boys], but they fight for the Syrian Interim Government while HTS fights for the Salvation Government, so they belong to opposing and very conflicting opposition Governments, the Syrian Interim Government is internationally recognized but the Salvation Government are designated as terrorists, but they both belong to the same alliance, not for much longer I suspect. The al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room Alliance is the only alliance HTS has with any of the Al Qaeda linked factions, the ones Turkey backs, but all the other alliances that are called ‘this or that blah blah’ ‘Operations Room Alliance’ were all actually designed to weaken HTS influence and strengthen Turkish influence, and there are many Operations Room Alliances, And all these Operation Room Alliance contain every variety of rebel there is, terrorists with terrorists, terrorists with moderate opposition, moderate opposition with moderate opposition, and the only thing missing are Turkish soldiers, so far that is. And the Operations Room alliances are very loose too, one faction can belong to several different alliances at the same time, none of then are totally exclusive. Although belonging to many of them gets you arrested by HTS in many areas of Latakia, Hama, Idlib, and Aleppo, as I said the al-Fateh al-Mubeen Operations Room Alliance is the only one that HTS condones, most of the other Turkish backed Operations Room alliances are bad news for HTS and the Salvation Government, but nowhere near as bad a news as Russia is lately. I’m waiting for the SF story that tells me the Turks and their proxies have just rescued some children from the HTS cannibals who were trying to eat them, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if they try.
