It is reported that three Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and two others wounded when their car hit a mine in the east of the country.

A reporter from Lugansk said that the explosion occurred after a military vehicle carrying troops from Ukraine’s 80th brigade hit the mine about 75 kilometers west of the Russian border.

“Their car hit the mine, 3 killed on the spot, 2 injured and taken to the hospital,” said a local reporter.

Another three government troops were wounded in separate exchanges of fire near the front line with rebel forces in Lugansk and Donetsk regions.

East Ukrainian rebels said Kiev soldiers had wounded two of their fighters in an overnight attack on the forces de facto capital, Donetsk.
