Tiger Forces Are Massing Troops In Northwestern Hama

The Syrian Army’s Tiger Forces are during the battle of Aleppo

The elite Tiger Forces have deployed several units on frontlines with the opposition-held town of Qalat al-Madiuq in the northwestern Hama countryside, the pro-government al-Masdar News blog reported on January 16 citing a military source.

According to the source, the deployment of these units is a part of ongoing preparation to launch a limited military operation around the governorate of Idlib. Russia and Turkey reached an agreement to establish a demilitarized zone around the governorate last September. However, the zone is yet to be established.

A source in the SAA told SouthFront that the claims of a near military operation around Idlib could be not accurate. However, he confirmed that the Tiger Forces were deployed in northwestern Hama and revealed that many units of the Republican Guard, 1st Division, 3rd Division, 9th Division and the 100th Regiment will be also deployed in the region soon.

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan are set to meet in Moscow on January 23 to discuss the situation in Idlib among other issues. Local observers believe that the two leaders may agree on a new mechanism to reinforce the failed demilitarized zone agreement during the meeting.

If the two leaders reach no agreement, the status quo in Idlib will likely remain. This would allow radical groups to further expand their influence in the opposition-held part of northwestern Syria.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

such serious expressions as they intently read the info, hopefully it’s about the upcoming assault on Idlib.

cliff

The Syria military need to go into iblid and clean it out of terrorist.

Mustafa Mehmet

they look like terrorist where assssat find them . ok local news paper

Rob

They are not terrorists. They are heroes. They have saved Syria from US and GB funded terrorists. You called them terrorists. What do you mean? Are you also the part of US and GB conspiracy plot or of Netanyahu for lookin greater Israel. Are you ISIS or Al-Qaeda element to see Syria weaken in front of US, GB and Israel.

Elisabeth Jenders

Yes but – keep in mind the threat of chemical attacks by the terrorists, which will be attributed to Assad, and be another excuse for the West to bomb the hell out of Syria. The SAA and the Russians are no cowards, but must act wisely and responsibly

jm74

If Syria is going to be accused of using chemical weapons then they may as well use it on all terrorists and invaders; the war will end immediately.

Elisabeth Jenders

The war will end immediately because the West will destroy Syria, the US coalition will occupy all of the country, and all the civilian and soldiers’ blood will have been spilt in vain. jm74, go back to your sandbox or computer games with your phantasies of fighting glory. Reality takes considering all possible consequences. It needs guns AND brains.

jm74

Infertile old crone.

DaBoiiiii

While he is wrong, you are also wrong.

Zionism = EVIL

Indeed, and perhaps the “tiger force” can stand up to the Zionist scum and liberate occupied Golan.

Smith Ricky

Yes ?

Barba_Papa

I reckon that the situation in SDF controlled Syria no longer warrants their attention. I also wonder what has happened to them since their last operation in Southern Syria. This has been their longest time off since probably their creation. Did they take the time to reorganize? Expand? Engage in political infighting with the regular army over resources? As happens often in countries where you have separate military organizations. I’m curious to know what happened.

Zionism = EVIL

The two big guys in camo mean business. The Zionists would crap in their kippas if they came across them instead of unarmed Palestinian women and children.

xTheWarrior22

I’m wondering about the same. Sadly those terrorists in Idlib had now time to reorganize as well. I just can’t wait to see the jihadists getting wrecked like the had done in the early years of the war. They will get everything back they had done to syria before. Believe that. God bless bashar al-assad, the entire syrian army, hezbollah, iran, shia militias and of course russia.

Bill Wilson

They’ve been getting rested, refitted, trained in using new weapon systems while working up new units to add to their ranks. I wouldn’t be surprised if their new members were cherry-picked from the moderate militias that reconciled with Damascus in order to get competent experienced fighters, NCOs and officers that know how to fight and aren’t afraid to either.

russians deciding again if syria has the right to free her own country and must the turks give permission. This blackmail they put on Assad because they went to syria for their own interest becomes worst than what the ones who send the isis into syria in the first place.

At least they was clear of their intentions.

FlorianGeyer

Turkey has the largest army in Europe I think, so it is important not to clash with them, and it would also give the US/NATO to get more deeply involved I think. NATO could then portray themselves as helping their ‘Turkish Best Friends’ etc.

Promitheas Apollonious

numbers dont make warriors my friend. americans also have a very large army with a lot of fancy toys and look how they always have their asses kicked no matter where they go.

playah

Good thing we have Dr. Assad working with Syria’s partner Russia to figure this out and not a bunch of armchair military planners.

FlorianGeyer

I realise that, yet numbers can still kill good soldiers when in large numbers. The US would relish a shooting war between Turkey and Syria + allies.

If Turkey was to openly fight the SAA it would likely create so many problems within Turkey, that Erdogan would be deposed.

A Syrian /Turkish fight with regular troops would be a Win Win for NATO and Israel I think.

Promitheas Apollonious

I dont disagree with you that numbers can kill good soldiers but if the turks find resistance that kills them in numbers, they will run. I know I fight them not only in one occasion.

If syrians dont fight and let the turks to settle in their lands then syria is officially divided in three pieces and eventually what is painted red on the map, will be lost also.

Valery Grigoryev

It’s OK. Just keep on moving! The faster the better.

Smaug

South Front is so preoccupied with the possible Damascan invasion, he seems to have forgotten that they have an opportunity to watch their enemies murder each other. BTW, Turkey is just as likely, if not more, to invade than the SAA.

You can call me Al

“the deployment of these units is a part of ongoing preparation to launch a limited military operation around the governorate of Idlib. ” ……………. WHY LIMITED ?, get in there big time and clear the area; fuck what the Turks say.

gustavo

Without an offensive this movement is just meaningless.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

There can be no buffer of HTS forces between the Turks and the SAA, it’s a total nonsense to think they ever could be. Why would Erdogan in the November Astana talks switch HTS from being a valid participant in the last few rounds of talks, to a designated terrorist organization in the November round. Before November the Russians and the SAA couldn’t legally attack HTS unless they were provoked according to the Astana agreement, after Erdogan moved them onto the terrorist list and took them off the valid participants list it gave not just the Russia and SAA the right to legally attack them, but the Turks and their legal proxies the NFL the ability to do so as well. Not what any sane person would do if they were intending on using HTS as a buffer force, it would have been far better to leave them as non valid targets. HTS are about to be destroyed, if not today then tomorrow, if not tomorrow the day after, and if not the day after, at least some time soon after that, I think it’s inevitable and nothing will stop it happening, least of all Erdogan, if he hadn’t wanted everything to play out exactly the way it has, he could have stopped the process at any stage. Contrary to what we’re being led to believe, and for purposes that suit both Erdogan and Putin, HTS is really a just spent force, they don’t have the manpower or equipment to beat the FSA/NFL forces under Erdogan, leave alone do what they just did while they’re also defending against the SAA at the same time, what a joke. Erdogan has 35,000 fighters at least, as well as Turkish heavy weapons and aircraft, and yet a mere 20,000 HTS fighters managed to beat back his forces and take over their territory, and all while they were defending a huge front against the SAA, double LOL. 20,000 HTS spread from one end of Idlib to the other, trapped in an island surrounded by not just the Russians and the SAA on a huge indefensible front, but with the Turks and the NFL [which have them listed as terrorists], looking after their backs. Lambs for the slaughter, that’s all they are, used as a bargaining chip for Erdogan to get something out of Putin. Assad keeps saying he’ll get every inch of Syrian territory back. HTS are listed as a terrorist organization, they’re spread way too thinly on the ground, and have huge fronts to defend with not enough men to do it, an attack by the SAA would devastate them completely in just a matter of weeks, how could they seriously ever be considered by anyone, leave alone Erdogan, to ever be an effective buffer against the SAA. It wasn’t too many months ago we were all holding our breaths in preparation of an SAA/Russian assault against not just HTS, but Erdogan’s proxies as well. A few months before the November talks it looked like all hell was about to break loose in Idlib, the Russians had gotten sick of pussyfooting around with Erdogan and were bombing his forces and HTS alike in a 24/7 artillery and airstrike bonanza that looked like it was a precursor for an invasion, whatever happened to stop that we were never told, but I suspect the evidence is now on the table, Erdogan must have offered up HTS as a sacrifice for the greater good and got something in return, like a security pact with Putin that will protect Erdogan’s forces from the SAA after HTS are gone. We’re all being lied to, HTS is no longer a threat and could be wiped out easily, when the time comes the SAA will roll over them like a steam roller tramples grass. if they lasted any more than a month against the SAA and Russia I’d be very surprised.

russ

The terrorist problem will be cleaned up quickly after the US protectorate has left.
