The Tiger Forces and their allies have liberated 5 villages and 3 hills from ISIS in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, according to pro-government sources.
Government troops have reportedly liberated the villages of Khutaytah, Abbas, Mazra’at Shamr, Qit’ah, Mujawwadah, the Nusuriyah Mountain and the hills of Bani and Khinzir.
Thus, units of the Tiger Forces and the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) outflanked the ISIS-held village of Jalaa – one of the last ISIS strong points in the area.
The SAA and the Tiger Forces are now in only about 12km from reaching their counterparts in the area of al-Bukamal.
Earlier, government troops liberated the villages of Salhiyah, al-Jadleh, Qusur Um Saba, Safsafeh, Ajrama, Wadi al-Worod, Maan Al-Sabkha and al-Shamr al-Layeh as well as the the al-Ward oil field in the same area.
The rapid advance of pro-government forces show that the ISIS defense de-facto collapsed in the Euphrates Valley.

Goals are different. Aleppo needs to be save a lot of lives. East of Euphat needed for US for block link between Syria/Iraq/Iran and control oil fiels (main target of US in Middle-East). So US agreed with ISIS to allow SDF to advance oil fields without any resistance and evacuated top militants from area under attack of government forces (as in Irag also). “saa is not able to fight isis” is full lie. More then 90% area has cleared by SAA with allies. It is FACT.
same goals. in aleppo the main question was to save the soldiers lives, in raqqa detto.

Far out, thanks for the tactical advice :D Most ISIS car bombs are destroyed at range by the SAA. But #3, not real very realistic to build a wall every 5km across the open desert when you wish to advance past it! Your #1 is for the SDF.

That is because the forces in Al-Bukamal itself are stagnant. We on the other side won’t know why that is till it happens, maybe a broad assault onto the east against ‘SDF’? A ‘Kirkuk’ like operation or are they just a shell force and the resat heading to Beit Jinn, Dar’aa, Idlib fronts? Diplomacy is the reason of the pace.

Do you remmeber how fast SAA moved to stop Turkey advance to south Syria ? Do you remember how fast SAA moved to get Deir Ezzor ? Do you remember how fast SAA move to to stop USA advance near Iraq border ? and several more. ¿ How did they get this fast movement ? with the cordinaton of aerospace Russia force and ground troops. Because of this strong protection and support they were be able to advance fast. Well, the same could do here to get Al Bukamal, and I did not see ever the interest in doing this.
You can either advance slowly, steadily with few resources, or you can advance fast spending a lot of resoruces.
War isn’t about speed only, it is about resistence too, if you over do it you might defeat yourself.
War is balance between strategy and tactic. Russia shows good strategy while US – not. We see map. Advance tempo and point is result both strategy and tactic.

Better to advance carefully to minimize casualties on ones own side when there is no time urgency for the advance.
