Tiger Forces Liberated Strategic Al-Mayadin City From ISIS (Map)

Support SouthFront

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) Tiger Forces have liberated the city of al-Mayadin from ISIS in the province of Deir Ezzor. The liberation of al-Mayadin is a devastating blow to the ISIS defense in the Euphrates Valley.

Now, the SAA has an opportunity to cross the Euphrates and to advance on the Omar oil fields from al-Mayadin.

Go SAA!!!

Kennethllindsy

Congratulations to SAA for freeing Mayadeen from ISIS devils.

Jordan Katz

Cross that river! Secure one of those little islands for me too!

Rob

Cross the fuckin river and secure one oil well for me.

FlorianGeyer

It would be wonderful if a Russian Airborne Division dropped in to secure the oil field.

Rob

I will be more than happy. Russia is a great power on the Earth.

Kira Binkley

To secure it for Assad, you mean. Before the Kurds take possession.

FlorianGeyer

Yes. Its a dream I had.

Kira Binkley

Yes, we’re/they’re working on that.

FlorianGeyer

I do hope so :) I could take up fortune telling then.

Kira Binkley

Uhhhh, not sure about that. But it is funny!

Kennethllindsy

Now what’s next? Cross the river and take the Omar oil fields or race to Bukamel before ISIS can plant 100,000 ieds around the city?

MH370

Bukamal can wait

Solomon Krupacek

for american paratroopers

RTA (Bob or Al)

Both, I reckon.

Kennethllindsy

There is a Cryptic tweet recently by @geromanAT suggesting that SDF may have already secured Omar fields but not announced it yet.

Barba_Papa

Methinks Russia would have noticed that at least. It’s not like you can hide the occupation of static oil fields like you can a column in the desert.

wimroffel

According to Al-Masdar they have now started attacking the villages between Deir Ezzor and Mayadeen. Remember that they went to Mayadeen by an inland road while the main road between the two cities and the cities and villages in between stayed in the hands of ISIS.

What next depends of course on the positions and intentions of ISIS and SDF. The advantage of al-Bukamal would be that connecting it to T2 would result in a pocket and shorten the front lines.

Kennethllindsy

Yes, Taking Bukamel now hastens the defeat of Isis in the region.

Solomon Krupacek

100k is bs

Kennethllindsy

Isis planted so many ieds at ramadi that it is estimated it will take 40 years to clear them.

Solomon Krupacek

no way. isis never had so much fighters

Rob

Syrian government is winning against terrorists and intervention of foreign countries (US, NATO and Israel).

The sacrifices of SAA, NDF and anyone that fight for the Syrian nation and for their homeland will be remembered for ever. SAA and their allied army forces and anyone that fight for Syrian nation are emerging as a united great army force in the Middle East region. Their Syrian war experience will be used to bring peace, stability and national integrity in the Middle East countries including Palestine, Syria, Iraq, and Yemen.

Manie

That was fast! Not much of a resistance as in DZ. Seems to confirm reports from a few days back that ISIS was abandoning the city.

Kennethllindsy

One has to wonder if RF Af carpet bombing villages in Idlib may have convinced ISIS to flee, thus avoiding same for Mayadeen.

Barba_Papa

Considering that Russian bombers are always seen taking off with minimal payloads of two to four bombs I’d doubt that qualifies as carpet bombing. For that you’d need large groups of bombers with full loadouts. Maybe a squadron of strategic bombers would qualify, a handful of SU-24’s and SU-34’s with only a couple of bombs each, not much.

Also, I doubt that ISIS cares anything for the people and places it occupies.

Kennethllindsy

You should watch the clips and read the reports. RF is bombing Idlib into the stone age.

Garga

RuAF is bombing terror groups strongholds and depots and obliterating them, that much is right. It’s not carpet bombing and certainly not carpet bombing villages. I assume you have a handful of footage to show us we’re wrong and you’re telling the truth, how about that? Throw in one or two of report while you’re at it.

Carpet bombing civilians has always been a US strategy since they had heavy bombers, not Russia.

Lupus

They are bombing Idlibistan OUT of the stone age

Kennethllindsy

Lupus wins the Irony Award for the day. (So far).

Lupus

???

Moussa Saab

?? ? = = ?

???? Well I tried

Lupus

Lol thats pretty cool

FlorianGeyer

Good point :)

Barba_Papa

Maybe you have a different definition of carpet bombing? When I think of the term I see streams of heavy bombers dropping insane amounts of payloads on relatively small areas, literally plowing them over. Something which is just not possible for the RuAF, considering that A: they only have between 30 and 40 tactical strike fighters in Syria, B: they’re not flying with heavy loadouts, quite the contrary. which suggests that they know how to hit their targets, rather then have to saturate them with bombs to hit anything (the Allied WWII method of bombing) and C: with that small airgroup they have to bomb targets in Idlib, and ALL the other areas of operation, not the least of which the key fronts in Central and Eastern Syria. That doesn’t leave much time for that entire airgroup to plow over Idlib.

And that excludes the reports and clips, which come from Jihadi territory, where no Western journalist dares to enter. Because no matter how biased they are against Assad, they’re not THAT stupid. You go there as a Westerner, you end up enjoying Jihadi hospitality. For a very long time. Which means that any reports coming from Idlib are supplied by the Jihadis and their affiliates themselves, and thus about as accurate and believable as a Hollywood action movie.

Jordan Katz

I couldn’t have said that better myself. When Hollywood awards an Oscar to the White Helmets in Syria you know something is seriously wrong. And these @$$Holes were even nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize! I would point & laugh if the whole thing didn’t make me want to vomit…

Kennethllindsy

Pretty hard to fake entire villages being annihilated by Russian bombs in Idlib.

Garga

What village? Do you have a name or what?

Tudor Miron

Yes, Kenny troll it is hard to fake and you fail doing it as expected.

Garga

This is not the first time he claimed it, the last time he was more specific: Russia carpet bombs Sunni villages.

It doesn’t make a difference if you or me show him this claim is false, either by logic and evidence, or curse him. He’s not going to answer any of it but certainly will be happy if we use harsh words or cuss because he will be painted as an abuse “victim”.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Just a troll from the Hasbara Chronicles don’t pay attention to that one.

Kennethllindsy

There are clips and reports posted daily. Perhaps you don’t have Google in your region though.

Garga

Show us these clips and reports then, will ya?

I may or may not have Google access for all you care, Tell us the name of villages destroyed by Russian carpet bombing and show us their clips, if there is any.

Tudor Miron

That “victim” part made my day :)

VGA

Earlier in the war the russian airforce has dropped cluster bombs and sent many jihadis to hell. When the situation was more critical for the syrian government.

Justin

yes but add SyAf, add artillery, add helicopters dropping bombs, add many sorties per day! It adds up!

Barba_Papa

The SyAf is also a shadow of its former self. It’s planes are sometimes literally falling out of the sky from overuse. There’s also the same factors that determine RuAF sorties. There are a shitload of fronts that all require close air support and battlefield interdiction. The fact that they had to use helicopters to drop bombs shows that there is not a whole lot excess capacity in the SyAF to be used for indiscriminate carpet bombing.

Again, I think that the term carpet bombing gets used a lot by people who don’t know a lot about what it actually means. But it sound scary and thus makes for an excellent scare word to be used by journalists with an agenda to push. Who often also fail to add that in Idlib Al Qaida has become very active again and that Al Qaida loves to put its military facilities smack in the middle of civilian infrastructure. So any bomb that hits an Al Qaida facility will also most likely cause civilian casualties. And thus cause the usual moral outrage of the usual suspects.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Seen where a lot of HTS and allied groups mortar rounds hit villages and US bombs hit villages in Idlib region.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

Have seen the US bombing in the region announced and unannounced, do you want to know where they dropped bombs.

Kennethllindsy

The US isn’t bombing Idlib. Even AMN is reporting that Russia is bombing Idlib every day.

Moussa Saab

The US logic is if you throw enough bombs, then eventually you will kill all the terrorists in the city.

Kira Binkley

How can they do that? Think. Idlib is a de-confliction zone.

Tudor Miron

Kenny troll strikes again! :) Would you mind sharing some links/videos where we can see some RuAF carpet bombing?

Manie

I think it’s more likely that ISIS has figured out that their project of mayhem and destruction is up and only a matter of time before they are fumigated like roaches. They will probably try to flee the country, regroup, or try to blend with the civilian population and try to appear somewhere else in the region.

Gary Sellars

Carpet bombing….. FFS is there no depth of utter fucking stupidity that you won’t descend to in order to bitch about the Ruskies and SAA????

Carpet bombing? With Su-24s and 34s???

If Russia was using Tu-95/Su-22M3 in the dozens, around the clock, dropping full loads of iron bombs indiscriminately (ie the old Murican way of aerial war), now THAT would be carpet bombing. Instead, they are selectively hitting TERRORISTS.

HATOstani propagandist… and a poor one at that.

Kennethllindsy

Carpet Bombing is an accurate descriptor of area bombing. Since the near Alamo defeat of the RF MPs, which would have been catastrophic politically for Putin, the RF AF increased its missions for its 25 planes to 3x per day and bombed Idlib mercilessly. There is a very good 2017 Foxtrot Alpha/jalaopnik articLe discussing RF limitations caused by failing to have targeting pods and using dumb bombs dropped from Su-24 & Su-25 in Syria. Curiously, it also noted that there were RF flights with less than optimal payloads, which is likely due to using older airframes and avoiding structural stress.

Kennethllindsy

Ps. As Idlib is just a puddle jump from Latakia, flying with half bomb loads makes sense as you want to be at 20,000 feet to avoid manpads and a full bomb load reduces rate of climb plus puts stress on the wings, which have limited lifespan. So that’s a reasonable theory of why RF is flying at about half load out for bombing Idlib which is only about 80 miles away.

RTA (Bob or Al)

I am amazed by the speed of the liberation. Bravo is just not enough to say to these heroes.

Phenomenal ?.

Kennethllindsy

SAA basically walked into Mayadeen with little or no resistance. ISIS had fled according to reports.

Barba_Papa

And to be honest, that worries me a lot more then ISIS standing their ground followed by a lengthy battle. Then at least you know where the buggers are. Now they could be anywhere, up to anything.

Kennethllindsy

Recent reports were that ISIS had 30,000 fighters in Anbar & Dez CS.

But how many of those were locals only loosely allied to Isis?

FlorianGeyer

No idea Kenneth. Perhaps you could ask your colleague’s in London or Langley and share it with us ?

PZIVJ

30k, how did you dream up this number? :/ Judging by recent action on the ground, I would guess less than 5,000 ISIS fighters remain in Anbar and DZ CS. And how many of those want to abandon the sinking ship? GOOD NEWS :)

Solomon Krupacek

on the way in amsterdam :DD

PZIVJ

Yes, Dutchnational seems to be missing right now also. Maybe he is down the street smoking some hashish with a few friends. :D

Attrition47

He, his haSHbara (geddit? ;o)) and MI 6 cronies do rather need a spliff, after being caught with their pants down….

Attrition47

Perhaps we are close to the moment when they go underground, like the Boer bastards in 1900.

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

There was a group from outside of Syria and their leader is said to have taken charge of the fighting. Maybe he has moved them more to counter in fights they can win and not in fights they can’t. This one is obviously smarter than the rest and needs to rebuild the propaganda on ISIS,so taking down SDF will help. Those pickings are easier and more rewarding in propaganda value since the SDF are touted as the slayers by the West media.

Solomon Krupacek

i remeber, 1 month, 2 montha ago when i wrote, saa should attack in 3 direction, the armchair generals cried: but maadan is sssoooooo strong defense, but maydin is sooo, soooo, soooo much strong. also cried about dangereaus iraqi border, now cry about 100 000 resitencers in abu kamal. abu kamal will fall also quickly. onyl saa lost critical summer and so lose oil fields. what i want to say: for me the speed is expected.

Kennethllindsy

I had predicted a stronger defence at Mayadeen, but it is possible that losing thousands of fighters at Kobani, Mosel & Raqqa fatally depleted Isis strength.

Rob

Me too.

samo war

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DY_7ukD5Mao

Rob

Syrian government SAA needs to increase their strength. For this they need extra 300 well trained army force. Syrian media and conferences can play good role in this.

Kennethllindsy

There just aren’t any more Syrians left to conscript, and Russia & Hezbollah are maxed out.

The only real numbers to add to the fight will have to come from iran.

Once Dez CS is conquered, it will still have to be occupied by thousands if troops to fight the inevitable insurgency.

Rob

You mean that America, NATO and Israel have killed 18 million Syrians or are you dreaming?

Terra Cotta Woolpuller

The insurgency from whom are they defending from they evacuated families for days out of Mayadeen and they are not like SDF with their fake propaganda films. Like how they talked to the same family 6 times, good job ,oh this is one of our Arab members family.

RichardD

You’re delusional if you believe your lies. The Syrian government coalition has been gaining ground for months as it rolls up the zio scum. And that will continue.

FlorianGeyer

That is why the President Netanyahu of the United States told his trusty Foreign Minister Trump to get out of the Iranian Nuclear deal.

Israel is deeply deeply worried :)

Free man

Well done to the SAA and to the Russian pilots. But the “disappearance” of ISIS terrorists is not a good thing.

Joe Doe

SAA should continue advances along the Euphrates river North, to clear the area, while Russian and SYrian ENgineers rebuild the bridge. Than SAA should cross to take the Omar Oil fields

Michael Qiao

too funny, Daesh wasted a lot of their manpower and armor playing in the sand box, now they lost their capital

FlorianGeyer

That is possibly why the desert area was left open with the Palmyra Deir Ezzor road as bait ?

Jesus

Tiger Forces always distinguish themselves by cleaning up ISIS vermin.

PZIVJ

WOW! Where did ISIS go? Even the Tigers are surprised :D https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/832c2526d4dc40d68ad0a72b72ad40f73ec845b75e42116c6eb8babd67cfe19c.jpg

goingbrokes

That was a masterstroke! SAA having Mayadeen is going to force daesh to redress as SDF again to get to Omar first. Expect a lightning advance from SDF with no resistance. Seriously though – the end is nigh!

Attrition47

Nicely done

Doc Jayant Telang

good news

Mauro Craizer

SAA and allies continuous pressure on several fronts across Syria is giving results, US/Israel proxies IS can’t fight on multiple fronts, not enough manpower, also “Coalition” can’t supply them as they did before. Expect usual CIA scripting from idiot Haley Iran, Iran! Nothing, I repeat, NOTHING went as Deep State planned in the last 17 years, instead of weakening Iran, they gave it new allies like Qatar LOL. Bibi and his ilk, Pentagon/CIA deep state puppets are stomping with their little chubby feet…Ha!

gustavo

I hope Syria-Russia take the decision of taking Omkar oil fields right away without any atop. There is not time for celebration until the terrorism is over totally. This time SAA must not think during one month whether or not to cross the river.

Langaniso Mhlobo

Proudly Syrian Tiger’s are on the move. The most specialized smart military force.Thumps up!!!

Moussa Saab

Yesterday I thought it would take a week for SAA to fully capture Mayadin… I was so wrong, never underestimate the Tiger Forces!

juan carlos ayala

deben cruzar de inmediato de lo contrario todo habrá sido en vano

RichardD

Isis probably sent a lot of the city’s occupiers on a suicide mission to try to close the highway to DE and they never returned and reinforcements were wiped out or turned back before reaching the city.

The war of attrition has changed sides and now the Jew world order terror slaves are being eradicated and not replaced in sufficient numbers to replenish their losses because they can’t find enough idiots for cannon fodder. And the miscreants paying for this insanity are less inclined to waste money on a losing cause.

Rob

Turkey forces entered in Syria without permission from Syrian government and start negotiation with different terrorist groups without permission and coordination with the Syrian government and their allies. Now Syrian government have issued call to Turkey to remove your force without any condition.

Kira Binkley

Gives the SAA an opportunity to regain the Omar Oil Fields, deserted by ISIS previously, before the Kurds, looks like to me.
