On November 18, the leadership of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) refused to surrender to the advancing forces of the Federal Government. Instead, the TPLF claimed that it is winning the civil war, which recently started in Ethiopia.
TTPLF claim that it was defeating “the enemy” and its citizens “will never kneel” followed airstrikes on its regional capital, Mekelle, and amid the advance of government troops towards the city.
“Tigray is now a hell to its enemies,” the TPLF claimed.
In turn, the chief of government forcesc, Berhanu Jula, said that Ethiopia’s military was “winning on all fronts” and TPLF fighters were “in a state of desperation”.
“The TPLF’s plan to drag Ethiopia into civil war and tear it apart has failed. It is currently in a desperate mode as it is surrounded,” Berhanu said.
Meanwhile, on the frontline:
- As of November 18, the Ethiopian Government forces are reportedly conducting an advance in the Mekelle area, according to Abiy Ahmed Ethiopia’s Prime Minister;
- On November 18, clashes between government troops and TPLF forces continued near Korem town;
- On November 16, the Ethiopian Government forces captured Alamata town.

Tigray sounds like something Iran could arm, if only it wasn’t landlocked
Why would Iran want to arm the Amerikastani tool TPLF, which twice invaded Somalia at the instigation of George W Bush, not to mention invaded Eritrea in 1998-2000 and despite the findings of a boundary commission which it had itself pledged to obey, still holds on to Eritrean territory? The TPLF is the Horn of African equivalent of the Pashinyan regime in many ways, has earned the enmity of not just Eritreans but all other Ethiopian ethnicities, and will be defeated by the exact same tactics as the Armenians were in Nagorno Karabakh.
TPLF sounds and looks like something communist, look at their red and yellow flag, doubt the US would support it now
Meles Zenawi, and the TPLF in general, was as communist as the Communist Party Of The USA. Isaias Afwerki, an old time Maoist trained in China, is far more communist than they.
I suspect that TPLF is better prepared than armenians were
Probably, but they’ll be defeated in the same way.
The TPLF regime boasts sound exactly as hollow and delusional as the Pashinyan regime boasts in the recent Nagorno Karabakh war. The parallels are closer, too: the Ethiopian government forces (ENDF) are using substantially the same tactics, attacking through low lying border areas to cut the enemy off from foreign backers (Sudan in this case) with the covert help of a foreign power and attritioning the enemy forces beyond recovery with the help of drones. In this case the power is Eritrea, which has excellent reasons to hate the war criminal TPLF regime (still occupying Eritrean territory in defiance of its own commitment to obey the findings of a border commission), and the drones are from the UAE. And just like the Pashinyan regime itself caused the loss of the war by refusing to negotiate and lying about “victory”, so is the TPLF regime itself responsible for everything that will happen to it now. It deserves no sympathy whatsoever.

Its pure coincidence I’m sure, that as soon as Sudan sells out to the ZioWest it immediately supports a rebellion aimed at fragmenting Ethiopia. Makes me wonder about the future Russian base there. Why would it be allowed if the Zios have a stranglehold on the Sudanese government. Smoke and mirrors anyone ?
