The Tor is a Russian all-weather low to medium altitude, short-range surface-to-air missile system designed for destroying airplanes, helicopters, cruise missiles, precision guided munitions, unmanned aerial vehicles and short-range ballistic threats.
Max speed 65km/h? So my Toyota Prius is faster?
can fire on the move! how fast is your toyota in 12 inch mud? how fast is it in snow and -50C?
Oh did u forget to add that part! youre excused!
Justin thanks. I was thinking it was the speed of the missile. It is the speed of the support truck of course. My Bad. My Prius although faster, needs a few upgrades to compete.
How did u mistake it for the speed of the missile?
On my screen, first page shows the missile. TOR and the speed with other data, but not the truck. So I just jumped to the conclusion it was the speed of the missile. so I thought it was a typo mistake and maybe should have said 65km/second although that sounds too fast, even for a missile. If the missile speed was next to its range and flight ceiling, that would have been clearer.
ok i get you! lol but it does say the engine size and the range next to it! lol, imagine if the missiles range was 500km but it flew at 65km/ph hahaha! Would take about 8 hours hahahaha!
its a funny mistake to be honest! u can always delete your comment and just say “my bad”!
comparing orange to apple?
The description is not accurate. It is a very versatile medium altitude system with target speed of 0-700 meters per second. That would make it effective against most incoming missiles and aircraft.
he he ok me dumb. It is the speed of the truck, not the missile. I was wondering what sort of V12- diesel engine was powering the missile. Thanks Jade.
lol about the engine! nice to have someone here who can make us laugh
Target interception speed is 0 – 700 m/s (meters per second) to deal with a wide range of aerial threats
With a weight of 167 kg, the 9M330 missile is 3.5 m long, carries a 15 kg warhead and has a peak speed of around Mach 2.8. Utilizing command guidance and radar-controlled proximity fuzes, the missiles can maneuver at up to 30Gs and engage targets flying at up to Mach 2. Cold launched, the missiles are propelled out of the vehicle before the solid-fuel rocket motor fires and the gas-dynamic maneuvering system turns them toward their target. Missiles can also be fired against surface targets. Each missile is a sealed round, stored in two groups of four. Engagement range is up to 12 km with a minimum range varying between 100–2000 m, depending upon version and an effective altitude of 10–6000 meters.
That’s what I like about Russia’s weaponry, they always deliver. The weapons may not look like Hollywood super-hero movie stuff (fancy, etc), but these weapons could bring down any Jew-owned lost cesspool right now.
Best short range SAM money can buy. Albeit Im pretty sure the flight ceiling is more than 6000m ;)
nice name!
