Trump Blocks Deep State Influence On Russian Elites

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) shouldn’t accept a delegation of Russians who are sanctioned by the US or the EU, the US ambassador to Ukraine said, according to an anonymous source cited by Ukrainian outlet Hromadske.

Ambassador William Taylor, Chargé d’affaires ai of the United States of America in Ukraine also recalled that the US opposed the return of Russians to PACE.

“We opposed the return of Russia to the Council of Europe, and we clearly expressed our position. We were impressed by the efforts of the Ukrainian team in the PACE, which they have put in order not to allow Russia to return to this organization,” the ambassador stressed.

Of course, Taylor further admitted that the US is not part of the Council of Europe. Notwithstanding, that doesn’t stop the US to attempt and impose its policy on it.

The “impressive” efforts by Ukraine meant the threat that it would leave PACE if Russia was allowed back in and that the imposition of sanctions on Russia must be more effective than it is currently.

These attempts by an ambassador to a country in Europe attempting to meddle in the policies of a continental body that it is not a part of is no surprise.

The surprising part is that the hysteria surrounding Russian meddling is continuous and appears to be propagated to no end, but US meddling in the internal policy of PACE is unmentioned, among other things.

William Taylor returned to Ukraine after Volodymyr Zelensky was elected president. The ambassador was welcomed back on June 18th.

“I look forward to leading the U.S. Embassy team in building strong working relationships with President Zelenskyy and his team, other Ukrainian officials and political forces, and in maintaining our strong partnerships with civil society organizations and the Ukrainian people,” Ambassador Taylor said.  “The United States remains deeply committed to the success of a stable, prosperous, democratic and free Ukraine, and we continue to stand in support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

The Ukrainian parliament adopted a resolution on June 26th against Russia’s return to PACE.

“The preparation of a decision to change the rules of procedure of the Assembly with regard to the abolition of the possibilities for appealing the powers of national delegations on substantive grounds or substantial complication of the order of such an appeal is politically motivated and is intended to ensure the unhindered and unconditional return of the delegation of the Russian Federation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe amid the categorical refusal of this state from complying with the lawful requirements of the Assembly related to the violation by Russia of the Statute of the Council of Europe and duties and commitments voluntarily assumed as part of its membership in the Council of Europe, as well as the support by Russian parliamentarians of the aggressive policy of the Russian leadership,” reads the statement.

On June 25th, the representatives of France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Austria, Slovakia, Turkey, Iceland, Cyprus and Azerbaijan, in their entirety, supported Russia’s return to the PACE.

KHPR (Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group), which is a group that allegedly protects Human Rights in Ukraine, reported that PACE is “on brink of electing sanctioned Russian Crimea land grab propagandist as Vice President.”

Leonid Slutsky, a Russian politician who is under EU, US and other countries’ sanctions “over his aggressive support for Russia’s invasion and annexation of Crimea, could be about to become Vice President of PACE.”

The posts of vice president are allocated purely in terms of the size of a country’s delegation.  The Rules of Procedure state that a country’s candidate is “declared elected without a ballot”, unless there is a request for a vote by at least 20 representatives.

The entire Russian delegation’s credentials were challenged on 25 June by Nino Goguadze from Georgia.  She lodged a challenge of substantive grounds, citing Russia’s “persistent failure to honour obligations and commitments.

Volodymyr Ariev from Ukraine issued a challenge on procedural grounds, pointing to irregularities in the composition of the delegation.

Both challenges by delegates from Georgia and Ukraine were supported from representatives from approximately five nations each, and of about 10 representatives in total, which is much lower than the requested number.

“At present it does look dangerously as though the same pragmatic and financial considerations that resulted in a majority of PACE delegates voting to effectively remove the sanctions against Russia may come into force again over acceptance of the Russian delegation as a whole and of the four sanctioned delegates included in it.

It is truly difficult to imagine how the Council of Europe could hope for credibility and respect if it allows Leonid Slutsky to be appointed its Vice-President,” KHPR claimed.

How the election of the Russian representative as Vice President impacts human rights in Ukraine specifically, is unknown.

KHPR added that Slutsky was sanctioned and found guilty of “repeating Kremlin and Russian state media lies which invariably omit mention of any Russian soldiers seizing control and claim that there was simply a ‘referendum’ that chose to join Russia.”

Of course, in addition Slutsky’s fact-finding visits to Crimea, while being accompanied by French politicians are completely fictional and propagandist.

“These included the shameful visit by Thierry Mariani and other French politicians, mostly from Nicolas Sarkozy’s Republican Party, who took part in propaganda events, denying glaring human rights violations under Russian occupation and slandering Crimean Tatar victims of enforced disappearances.”

Furthermore, there “strong grounds” that don’t prove, but lead KHPR and other Western-backed individuals and establishments to believe that at least one of the French visits was funded by Moscow.

So essentially, Western-orchestrated Ukrainian propaganda shows no signs of stopping, but it appears that at least the actions of the EU and PACE show that it is losing traction.

It should also be noted that the current actions of the Trump Administration further work towards the undermining of the so-called “pro-Western” and “Liberal” part of the Russian elite by isolating them from the bodies that are being influenced by the Deep State.

the UE leaving PACE? tell me again why that is of any consequence?

Dick Von Dast'Ard

Ukraine is just sounding like a $5 dollar whore for Mike Pompeo and John Bolton.

Shameful.

frankly

A real prostitute would probably be more convincing, these guys are sluts for the West. They are so high on their self worth that they don’t even try to be professional. Oh they must think we are great, look how nice they are to me. Take a reality check from Saddam. Better yet talk to the South Vietnamese.

“The “impressive” efforts by Ukraine meant the threat that it would leave PACE if Russia was allowed back in”

Finally, a positive move for Europe. I look forward to Ukraine following through.

Generally a positive report when all the usual lies are trotted out and the majority ignore them.

Where is mr. d’Artagnan? Guess why there is Azerbaijan but no Armenia in the list of those who supports Russia?

Tudor Miron

Armenia was highjacked lately by US country level elites but that’s not for long.

Harry Smith

Oh really? Pashinyan has ratings of 82%. Not for long you said? ROFL.

Tudor Miron

Lets see how it unfolds.

The United States doing the bidding of Bill Browder and Mikhail Khordokovsky. The United States has a dream. A dream that Russia is sanctioned back to the Yeltsin years.

Tommy Jensen

Good headline. Staying out of PACE and other Deep State European organisations put a wedge into the wagging liberal part of the Russian elite who “have always felt we were Europeans and have Europe, green clima change and gender equality, in our hearts.

Ma_Laoshi

As far as I know, Hromadske is financed by the Dutch Embassy, the US Embassy, and Soros. In which sense is this an “Ukrainian” outlet even if it uses that language? At most it’s (((Ukrainian))); but have we agreed on a way to pronounce the scare quotes?

Tudor Miron

” the current actions of the Trump Administration further work towards the undermining of the so-called “pro-Western” and “Liberal” part of the Russian elite by isolating them from the bodies that are being influenced by the Deep State.”(c) – this phrase is extremely important. I’m a bit surpised to see it here. That’s exactly what experts belonging to Public safety conception were telling for a while.

To me the message of how and why F.uk.us pull color revelutions is perhaps the biggest story out there. That so many countries would vote for Russia signifies that slowly the world is realizing the true nature of the threat Empire is presenting to the future of humanity. Further to that they are taking active steps in opposition. At least the ones who aren’t totally blackmailed.
