Speaking outside the Pentagon on September 11 to commemorate the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, US President Donald Trump said the US is hitting the Taliban “harder than they have ever been hit before”.
“They will never have seen anything like what will happen to them,” Trump said. “No enemy on earth can match the overwhelming strength, skill, and might of the American armed forces.”
He threatened to use force in the event of a threat to the US.

The US President adressed the issue of the US-Taliban talks on the conflict in Afghanistan.
“We had peace talks scheduled a few days ago,” he said. “I called them off when I learned that they had killed a great American soldier from Puerto Rico and 11 other innocent people.”
Trump claimed that the Taliban had conducted the attack in Kabul to gain leverage in the talks and “to show strength. But actually, what they showed is unrelenting weakness.”

poor dunny the dunce, the taliban can run circles around the government troops in afghanistan and also around the dumber than dumb americans, if they could fly, since the americans are only seen when in a jet or some such tool. the americans believe they can negotiate a honourable truce and withdraw peacefully to home base which is a folly – the talibans can do whatever they like and will do whatever they like and the yanks can’t do anything about it, except spend another couple of billions after the trillion already spent and there is nothing to be won for the yanks . the war in afghanistan is lost and it was lost from day one and all the morons have achieved is murder of civilians in the millions, devastated lives in the millions and a huge opioid famine back home based on all the smack routed from there to stateside.

The US wants out – its a military stalemate – but they can’t politically admit this, so they stay there achieving little and trying to come up with a means to withdraw without losing face. In any other occupational sector this exercise would be a case study in appalling mismanagement.
lets not forget that in Afghanistan there is not only Taliban but ISIS as well…and that really complicates things.
