Since October 2019, more than 109 Katyusha rockets have been launched towards locations housing US troops in Iraq, or other US facilities, such as the US Embassy in Iraq.
The most recent one took place on January 26th, when a rocket hit the US Embassy in Baghdad directly, injuring at least one member of staff, in addition to an undisclosed number of other individuals who suffered injuries. No deaths were reported.
Three rockets were launched, and only one hit its mark.

Between the beginning of October 2019 and November 10th, 2019, the Qayyarah base, located north of Baghdad that houses US troops was targeted 10 times by Katyusha rockets.
Notably, on November 8th, the base was hit by 17 rockets and there were no casualties.
Another location that’s been subject to frequent Katyusha rocket attacks is the al-Asad air base. On December 3rd, Ain al-Assad base, the focal point of the US forces’ presence in Iraq, was hit by five missiles.
Reports such as this are commonplace.
On December 5th, the Balad air base north of Baghdad was hit by two missiles.
Security sources blamed Kata’ib Hezbollah, one of the main factions in the Popular Mobilization Units and a part of the Iraqi Armed Forces, was behind that attack.
On January 4th 2020, two rockets hit the Balad Air Base located near Baghdad, without any casualties and damage reported.
Iraqi authorities announced on December 12th that two rockets had landed near a military base housing US soldiers in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport.
Shelling around the US Embassy in Baghdad has also happened numerous times since October 2019, while it was mostly vacated from the majority of its staff.
On December 27th 2019, the K-1 Air Base in Kirkuk province, Iraq—one of many Iraqi military bases that host Operation Inherent Resolve coalition personnel—was attacked by more than 30 rockets, killing a U.S. civilian contractor and injuring four U.S. service members and two Iraqi security forces personnel. The U.S. blamed the Iranian-backed Kata’ib Hezbollah militia for the attack.
In response to all of the shelling throughout several months, the US carried out a response, which saw its warplanes strike five Kata’ib Hezbollah positions in Iraq and Syria, killing 25 on December 29th, 2019.
Following that, to allegedly further deter any possible aggression, and with the justification that an attack was being planned, the US assassinated Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
Since then, Iran has responded once by firing ballistic missiles on the al-Asad air base, causing heavy damage, and an ever-increasing number of injured personnel.
In addition, the January 26th attack on the US Embassy, and several other attacks on military bases took place.
Prior to the assassination of Soleimani, all of the shelling resulted in no injuries and little damage, however, it would appear that now, the US adversaries are attempting to carefully target the facilities that house US troops and staff.
Thus, the alleged US plan to deter any sort of aggression and forwards its interests through the assassination of Qassem Soleimani proves to be backfiring. So far all its achieved is to lead to stronger protests from Iraq’s government, as well as people for the US troops to leave the country.
So far, the Trump administration’s actions have put any US personnel and staff in Iraq, and potentially in the Middle East in more danger than before, as it is becoming increasingly apparent.

They also have access to Konkurs, Kornets, TOWS and Sagger ATGM along with 109mm RR and 81 and 120mm mortars and will do a lot of damage as there are barely 20,000 Americunt and NATO scum in a large country with seething hatred for the occupiers. Just watch the next few months.
