On July 6th, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused France of supporting Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar and providing a variety of military support to him.
Cavusoglu stated in a joint press conference with the European Union (EU) Foreign Policy Official, Josep Borrell, that France began attacking Turkey after Haftar lost major strategic ground in Libya, “partly due to Turkey’s support of forces aligned with the Government of National Accord (GNA).”
He went on to point out that France was not sincere regarding the Libyan issue, noting that Turkey continues to cooperate with the EU regarding all matters relevant to Libya.
On the same day, Turkish state outlet Anadolu Agency reported, citing local Syrian media, that Russia sent 300 mercenaries (including “former” ISIS members), from the regions under control of President Bashar al-Assad’s in Eastern Syria to fight alongside Haftar’s Libyan National Army (LNA).
“Russia sent “Shabiha” militias affiliated with the Bashar al-Assad government from Syria’s Deir ez-Zor province and 300 warriors, mostly Syrian, from the Iranian-backed foreign groups — Fatimiyyun, Zeynebiyyun and Jerusalem brigades — to Libya, and paying each $1,000-1,500 monthly.”
Meanwhile, on the ground in Libya, there’s no clashes, following the air strikes on Turkish positions in al-Watiya airbase.
Air strikes were also carried out by the LNA on GNA positions west of Abraak al-Shati.

Turkey announced that it was actively using its tanker airplanes together with its warplanes to offer support and refueling. So far, Turkey has used only UAV’s but this may signal that it plans to use manned attack aircraft.

I will present you the real picture on the ground. Yesterday’s “mysterious” precision strike on the Hawk MIM23 battery has really rattled the Turkeys. The Hawk is a very good self-sustaining medium altitude SAM and in the hands of capable operators, even when fired radar blind in volleys of 2-3 sequence will hit the airborne target once it locks in. The strike was flown by skilled pilots with very good ground it and also exposed the overall ineptitude of Turks. With rising casualties and costs, the goat fucker Erdogan may have bargained more than the Turkeys are capable of. I have a feeling worse is yet to come.
The question is, if the AD Systems were fully activated and operated. They were placed just 1-2 days before the attack.
The first thing any professional military does is to have the combat engineers test the suitability of the SAM site and also deploy redundant AD and AAA systems, just anticipating such a hostile strike. The Turks are supposedly a “NATO” military, but with such fuckwits they have exposed the low quality of their officer corps. I would expect this type of incompetence from Arabs, not NATO’s second largest military.
There’s a rumor France used Rafael jets to target that area.It was like a live weapons testing as India is about to receive 7 Rafaels :)

First one is, you cannot be permanent in Libya without our company. And the second one is, if you open Hagia Sophia as a mosque (which is a hot topic in Turkiye right now), then you will be doomed.
The pilots were certainly Russian, Armenian or Slavic. The Hawk has a very powerful radar system and to evade that is not child’s play. No chance to expell Turkey with Arab Tribes…. Despite Libya, Turkey is directly at the Border. Turkish Officers lead the Battles in Afrin, El Bab, Tal Abyad and pounded SAA in Syria. The case in Wattiya was sloppy, but Turks will learn their lessons from the Wattiya attack and adapt. Just because Turkey lost AD Systems will not make it pack and leave. They will be replaced by HISAR-O and with additional KORKUTs.

At this stage it’s questionable how much if any NATO support the Turks are getting. If they’re on their own they have reduced intel. Which makes it easier to hit their equipment.
They may have drones with air to air missiles that attacking aircraft may have had to deal with outside of the Hawk range. But that’s speculation.
Yes, it baffling that they have no AWACS or based F-16 in Libya. Without proper CAPS missile sites on ground are exposed and in the modern BVR era will be taken out fast. Supposedly, Turks have NATO military and I am sure their officers read the same books. Let’s hope so.
The Turks are unlikely to put their limited AWACS capability anywhere near Libya without F-16 escorts. Particularly if they’re going to be entertaining Libyan airspace. Which risks peer escalation.
The Egyptians and UAE have been flying over Libya for years. And whatever the “LNA Airforce” consists of. It’s more than a few poorly maintained Mig 21s and 23s and a handful of pilots who haven’t flown in 10 years.

Yes, i believe the pilots were highly skilled and the planes were high-tech which shows that was not Haftar’s forces. That ‘jailed military officer tale’ is not true. As I have said before, the only way Turkey can fight a prolonged and sapping war in Libya is to bring in AWACS and F-16 and that my friend is an expensive process and will entail more casualties. Syria is a different matter as it is adjacent to your country. Even the US could not fight wars far from home.

Turkey and Russia shall be partners for their own national interest. There is too much to lose on both sides. In Syria, Libya and Iraq, if Turkey, Russia, Iran and Syria coordinates truly there won’t be any western imperialism left in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. In Turkey on contrary true patriotic secular forces shall be in charge. Won’t last. Russia is Orthodox and Turkey has a very Conservative Sunni jihadist population. A few Kemalist Secularists in the cities especially on the Aegean will not tip the balance. In that regard, is there anything like a Greek, Romanian, Latvian or a Serb, Russian? I don’t think so. Greeks for instance are far from being original (aka ancient Greeks). Their genome is mixed with northern Africans, Turkic tribes, Balkan people like Albanians and Gypsies. For Romanians the same, albeit with higher Gypsy percentage. Russians originate from mixed Slavic and Turkic people. You can not deny. There is NOT such a thing as pure nations. The exceptions may be aboriginal people in different parts of the world due to isolation. If a nation has an imperial past the more likely it is much more mixed. What makes someone loyal to the country is 1- Common history with the people living within the same boundaries, 2- Common language, 3- Common customs 4- Common Religion (with lesser degree). Mutual genome is what you have within you as a result of historical DNA mixture, but doesn’t make you a member of a nation. To make it clear, lets assume you have 20% Macedonian, 20%Albanian, 20%Gypsy, 20%North African, 20% Turkic genes. You are born in Greece and identify yourself with this nation. You are Greek because you are loyal to that Nation and you ancestors lived in that country with the customs. You are NOT an ancient Greek, or Roman or ancient Egyptian. Same applies to Turks, Russians etc. French is another example. French people have German, Italian, Spanish, British,Polish, Arab blood. Is there such a thing as “pure” French? No a French is someone who identifies with the land, customs and history.
