Turkey Accuses US-Led Coalition Members Of Supporting Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham In Idlib

Turkey’s Foreign Minister accused members of the US-led coalition of supporting Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) in an attempt to sabotage the Russian-Turkish demilitarized zone agreement on the governorate of Idlib.

“Certain partners from the coalition support HTS… First, for the termination of the Idlib memorandum. Second, there are countries that are making great efforts to prevent the establishment of a constitutional committee just because we are doing it,” Mevlut Cavusoglu told the Hurriyet newspaper on January 31.

The Turkish minister also claimed that some members of the coalition are paying HTS for violations of the demilitarized zone agreement. This was the first time when a senior Turkish official publicly acknowledged that militants are violating the agreement.

A 15-20km demilitarized zone was supposed to be established within the opposition-held areas around Idlib. Despite the presence of Turkish observation posts there, the efforts to establish the zone have resulted in no significant progress.

“Russians have a joint operation offer. They say we should remove them [HTS militants] from there”, Cavusoglu revealed.

Cavusoglu added that the Turkish military presence in Idlib has encouraged many foreign militants to abandon the radical group. However, their countries are still refusing to take them back.

These remarks coincided with the visit of a Turkish military delegation to Moscow, where several issues related to Syria, including the situation in Idlib, will be discussed.

Turkey’s stand on Idlib appears to be shifting as a result of Russian pressure and HTS’ continued attempts to expand its influence in the areas controlled by Turkish-backed groups.

“many foreign militants to abandon the radical group. However, their countries are still refusing to take them back.”

Why wouldn’t they?! Aren’t ex-HTS members those “moderate rebels” those “freedom fighters” against “bloodthirsty” Assad regime… Aren’t they to be accepted with wide opened hands and big smile?!? Why UK, Germany; Holland, Belgium, France and others don’t take those “moderate rebels” back ?!! WHY?! Maybe they can open crash courses for their youth there how to do chopping of the head or burning people live or making the bombs out of anything or how to start Jihad for those who pay you?!

Conclusion? Turkey failed as a peace enforcer, as a partner and as a military power, no mater what the reason might be. The reason they claim is rediculos and just tells us : Turkey can not safeguard the borders. What a mess would that bring if they would be give the right to invade eastern Syria. Turkey should leave Syria, it is a lot off noice but nothing real. Why did Turkey facilitate the surrender to the HTS???? If this is treu?

What to do with the terrorists is an issue. If they can’t be repatriated, they’re probably not going to be offered Syrian, Turkish or anyone else’s citizenship. Which makes them defacto stateless criminals. And there are thousands, if not 10s of thousands of them in Idlib and in other places in Syria. Syria will be dealing with these people for years. Both inside and out of their prison system.

The United Nations should build a massive prison that holds something like 50.000 prisoners in the middle of the Sahara deserd, and have them work there for free for life and the profits would go to people hurt by them in the wars they were involved …

Proposing gulags are you??

So what would be the difference between us and the soviet union that ive been told all my life was bad?

The solution is that the countries have to take their citizens back, they knew what they were doing sending them there…take em back…phase one of war reperations.

Killing the terrorists or.moving them somewhere does not punish the aggressor countries one bit…it emboldens them.

Its the agressor countries that have to pay, filthy canada included.

We made this mess whitewash it wih liberal intervensionnism and voila!!!!

No that we intervened, didnt work, and were stuck with an army of failed jihadist? Just gulag them right?? Outta sight outta mind??

What a great western idea… i see a nobel peace prize coming your way!

Are you saying that those terrorists were sent there buy their goverments ?

If you can prove that then not only their goverments have to take them back but those goverments would have to answer to international law and be brought infront of some high Judge (in the Hague maybe).

If you dont have proof of that accusation then I think my idea is still the best solution to seperate those cockroaches from the rest of humanity. ‘Do the crime-Pay the fine’.

I dont have a Syrian example off the top of my head, but there was this one fellow, the brits helped him get into Libya , when the guy came back he was part of the Ariana Grande terrorist attack. Even CNN has a peice on it…for what its worth LOL. Motives aside. Here is an example of someone sent or helped by governments intelligence services to go be a good terrorist somewhere else.

I agree these cockroaches should be shot on the spot, the real problem is stopping the cockroach spawners.

Moving the cockroaches does not solve a thing!

There is no reason why we can’t do both. Problem is the system that runs the goverments also runs the judges the prosecutors the media and so on…

Wow, this turkish government is a huge joke with a clown leading it. Which country protect HTS, who control all of Idlib, with dozens of military outposts ? -> Turkey ! And they claims other country are protecting HTS ? Which country saved a bunch of islamist terrorists to settle them in Afrin ? -> Turkey

Does he really think that we are going to eat this salad ?

If Idlib’s transition under Assad’s control prior to the final political settlement in Syria is achieved, the contractors in the opposition classes will be stripped of all respects, and once they are stripped of ,Turkey will not be able to be represented in the new Transitional Government Coalition through these opposition. All the movements of Turkey show that its purpose is to turn the province of Idlib into a Turkish “protectorate”.

HTS is paid for run through Tel-Aviv and Riyadh so they take orders from sometimes the White House and most times the US Intelligence Community who represent a more real picture of US capabilities.

Mevlut Cavusoglu is breaking new ground and understands Trump can’t be in every brothel at the one time it’s simply beyound consciousness but still Trump manages to imagine his prophetic rants represent his obscene self comprehended capabilities.

On this level Trump really is a great man and would go far in the realms of speculative fiction.

Others with far less imaginative invectitude have done so indeed and produced for the first time in our human existence a completely fabricated international civil society whose axioms of accepted truth agreed between individuals and Nations are contradicted by what is commonly perceived.

But there again Reality was funded by a lie, Allah knows that full well and was ready for these mugs.

Its only in this unique environment could a crazy fool like Trump rise above others too clever to put their head up.

Supplies to Al Nusra can only come in via three ways: Syrian government territory, by air or via Turkey. The SAA doesn’t supply its own enemies, so close to the major S-300 and S-400 batteries of the Russians the Americans don’t dare to go, that leaves only Turkey. And Turkey does not know what gets shipped into Idlib via its own borders? Who does this moron think he’s fooling?

>>Cavusoglu added that the Turkish military presence in Idlib has encouraged many foreign militants to abandon the radical group. However, their countries are still refusing to take them back.<<

Yeah right on the first part. This shows what the biggest requirement is of any politician, the ability to mouth massive amounts of bullshit without batting an eye. As for the second part, why should those countries take terrorists back? Turkey could have sent them back BEFORE they joined Al Nusra, when they had to journey through Turkey to get there. When you wanted to use them against Assad they weren't a problem but useful. Now they are suddenly a problem to Turkey? Fix it yourself.

But on the flipside this is a good sign, as it shows that Turkey now finally acknowledges that it has a problem in Idlib and that it wants to get rid of the problem.

Turkey and US are allies. Or better, Turkey does whatever US wants and/or whatever slack US leaves her. They may talk diffeent but act together in everything. Can anybody be naive enough to think that after infiltrating every institution of Turkey since 1948, the US would leave Turkey be? Not a chance. fullstop!

for the smart asses here

Syria’s Arabic-language al-Watan newspaper quoted sources close to the terrorists as saying on Thursday that the Turkish military and intelligence officials have promised the ringleaders of Ahrar al-Sham, Nour al-Din Zinki and the so-called National Liberation Front (NLF) terrorist groups that they will merge them along with Tahrir al-Sham al-Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board or the Al-Nusra Front) within the framework of a military organization. They added that Turkey has also promised them to set up a parliament and an autonomous government after dissolution of Tahrir al-Sham in territories occupied by the militants, adding that Faylaq al-Sham which has recently been joined by 18 other terrorist groups in Northern Idlib and Western Aleppo is due to be the political branch of the new organization and Tahrir al-Sham will take the responsibility for its military wing. The military experts warned that Turkey’s measures are against the Sochi agreement to establish a demilitarized zone in Northern Syria and the Turkish president’s promises to his Russian counterpart in the last week meeting in Moscow, adding that the move by Ankara has left the Syrian army with the only option of cleansing Tahrir al-Sham from the demilitarized zone. Similar reports earlier this month also said that the terrorists of Tahrir al-Sham are pursuing the new scenario to establish a new integrated military organization in Idlib after the terrorist group extended its presence in the province in cooperation with Turkey. “The terrorists of the National Liberation Front (NFL) affiliated to the Turkish Army will soon be dissolved in Tahrir al-Sham as the militant groups have agreed to form an integrated military structure,” the Arabic-language Enab Baladi affiliated to militants quoted a source close to Ankara-backed Free Syrian Army (FSA) as saying. The source noted that the scenario started after Tahrir al-Sham’s dominance over most of Idlib’s regions. He said that according to the plan, Idlib province will be divided into two sections in political and military terms; the Ankara-backed Faylaq al-Sham terrorists will take charge of the political affairs and Tahrir al-Sham will represent the military wing. Tahrir al-Sham leader Abu Mohammad Julani had previously called for setting up integrated military formation in Idlib province with the partnership of all terrorist groups once again, after he voiced full support for Turkey’s assault on Kurdish militants. Tahrir al-Sham, enjoying Ankara’s support, has recently gained control over 9,000 square kilometers of lands in Aleppo, Lattakia and Idlib provinces.

Turkey hypocrisy, they support terrorists of any kind, and this is what is doing now that the have free hands, thanks to Russia-Turkey agreement. This agreement has produce just a “safe heaven” for terrorists at Idlib.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Gee i wonder which coalition partner he’s referring to, where are all the Jew blamers right now, this is the right time to “blame the Jews” it’s Israel he’s referring to, not the US. I keep saying Erdogan is the most hated person in the ME right now but it’s Israelis that hate him the most, they more than any other party have good reason to want Erdogan dead and gone. Since the Saudis can no longer support HTS in Idlib due to Arab League restrictions, the Israelis can easily take up all the slack, since they and the Saudis were the ones originally supporting HTS in the first place, the Saudis directly and the Israelis indirectly, so now the Israelis would be just dealing directly with HTS with no Saudi middle man. Paybacks are a bitch, and Erdogan’s hurt the Israelis a lot more than anyone’s realized yet, back in June/July last year Erdogan ruined the peace settlement for Syria, but he also ruined the Israeli/Iranian security deal I believe must have also been brokered by Putin and Trump. Erdogan has to go.
