On October 5, the Turkish Foreign Ministry stated that a Russian jet violated Turkish airspace near the Syrian border on October 3. In turn, the Turkish Air Forces scrambled two F-16 fighter jets to intercept it.
We have 2 questions:
- Why the Turkish statement was issued in 2 days after incident?
- How did Turkey found the Russian airstrikes directly at the Syrian-Turkish border? (Map of the recent airstrikes is below)
It’s almost evident that the real reason of such statements is to put diplomatic and media pressure on Russia, defend “moderate terrorists” from the airstrikes.
