Turkey Boosts Its Naval Group In Eastern Mediterranean As Idlib Battle Looms In Syria

FILE IMAGE

The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) have boosted its naval group in the Eastern Mediterranean as the battle of Idlib is looming in Syria, Turkey’s pro-government daily Yeni Safak reported on September 2.

“The Russian defense ministry said that more than 25 warships and support vessels and around 30 planes, including fighter jets and strategic bombers, would take part in the Mediterranean drills which it said would last from Sept. 1 to Sept. 8.

Upon these developments, Turkey, which previously had 10 warships in the region, dispatched several more naval vessels to the region, the exact number of which is unknown.

Turkey has numerously expressed its objections to an Idlib offensive, saying it would lead to disaster, and is taking every precaution to protect its rights and interests in international waters,” Yeni Safak wrote in its article.

On September 1, the Russian Navy already started its drills in the area near Syria, which involve two Tu-142MK maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft.

At the same time, the Russian side has warned that the US is building up a strike force to attack government factilities in Syria after an expected staged chemical attack in the province of Idlib.

Summing up the recent developments, all the sides involved in the conflict are currently preparing for a new round of military escalation. This time the escalation will be caused by an effort of the Syrian-Iranian-Russian alliance to defeat the terrorists in Idlib. The US-led bloc as well as Turkey are not happy with this.

Thats what I thought. Turks are not complete, if their navy is not there.

It makes things even more insane and dangerous.

Poor Turk

when it comes to Syria, America and Turkey are on the same side.

Barba_Papa

Except they aren’t, because the US wants to create a Kurdish state in Northern Syria and Turkey really really really doesn’t.

Turkey just doesn’t want this Idlib offensive because it doesn’t want the Jihadis it has sponsored to flee back into Turkey.

zman

Yeah, he has finally realized that when his pets have no where to run, they will try to run to papa. Papa has realized just what kind of problem they would be in Turkey, not to mention the fallout that harboring them would bring. In Turkey, they might just start their tricks at the behest of the west to secure backing and support…I mean, it’s not like they are loyal to anyone, including Erdo, who now needs to throw them under the bus. Where would Erdo be then? Tsk, tsk, what evil webs we weave…

Jens Holm

USA never has wanted any kurdish state there at all. If so, they never would have helped ISIS, when it came out of hand by Assad.

USA would have liked filling the gab with anything else like a FSA with Kurds.

Do You even have a calender.

Barba_Papa

You’re right that US would have preferred to have its own breakaway republic, headed by the FSA. Because that would have put them in complete agreement with Turkey which wants the same. But the FSA is a complete and utter failure so they have to make do with what they got. And that is the Kurds. So a Kurdish state it is. Even it means pissing off Turkey.

Because apparently setting up a breakaway republic in Syria to thwart Assad and Iran is more important to the US then good relations with Turkey.

Jens Holm

Its an oppinion from here: Turks hardly are on their own side.

Felix D (TUPPERWARE PARTY)

So Assad should surrender and go into exile on St Helena, right Borker?

You can call me Al

Just block the retard.

Jens Holm

I see the picture well. Its the “ME-special”.

Only one oppinion is allowed made by the Goverment. Or else – KILL KILL KILL and the same day You can be homo, jew, zionist, YPG, PKK, Western.

But You reain the same = Mainly NOTHING.

You not even understand, why I write here. I write here, bacause others can see, there are other oppinions then Yours.

Hard for me to see 5 armies close to each other in Idlib is any good solution. But of course You dont learn soluting Yourself -. More like You obey any running the things for themselves with fear and baojonets.

Thats how bankrobbers so too.

Felix D (TUPPERWARE PARTY)

I would but he’s actually quite comical. Sometimes a spectacularly bad film becomes a cult classic. Jens is like that! :D

FlorianGeyer

That also had unintended consequences for the UK :)

Jens Holm

That could be one of several solutions.

FlorianGeyer

Its your NATO mates that started all of this Jens and they NEVER expected to be expelled from any part of Syria :)

Enjoy WW3 Jens. I will , even if it kills me :)

Carne João Pasta

At least then something real and authentic will play out in this phony world (((They))) have constructed for us. To know it will be all over for them as well, they will have no or at most a very bleak, miserable future. I’m not too sure the US and Israel, UK et al PTB won’t go through with it. To know that they will receive the same fate as the rest of us I guess I can live (in the afterword anyway, if there is one) with that!

Jens Holm

Assads systematicly started this many decades ago.

And no. The civile uprice was supported.

But of course it becomes more difficult to be respected with honor as the ownerclass, when they shoot back having the same conditiosn as You – as they should have for many years.

Same goes for Turkey and PKK. The reasons are ignored.

Very strange for me to see how sekular countries should prefare Jihadists. But onlythe ones, which are not afraid to die, are left. All other normal ones are already killed.

You also forget the many locals and their support for changes in Syria. They always are censured away.

Jasminko Grdic

It looks like ErdoDog is playing A double game.

Putin need to tell him that the Turkey Gas Stream and the S400 deal can be canceled

Nosferatu

No Putin does not play like that. He better explain Erdogan what is the real situation what are US plans with him (maybe he needs 2016 coup attempt reminder) and what are the benefits of being friends with Russia.

Jasminko Grdic

Erdodog know nothing. What he know is to make money with his ISIS and HTS brothers from stealling Oil and now ppl goods from Syria. On other side he thinks if he now support US that Trump will be his friend again and forget all shit and the Lira will bes strong again.

TiredOfBsToo

Erdogan desires a piece of Syria. If the US appears to be winning, he will switch position. While it’s true that Putin doesn’t play that game, it appears that Erdogan has learned well the ways of the ‘west’ and that, the more I see Putin acting within the framework of law and respect, the more the ‘west’ turns up the heat. Growing up, I came up with a saying based loosely on the bible, i.e. if you turn the other cheek, they’ll be lining up at the door (for another whack).

Ivan Freely

It’s well known that Erdogan plays both sides to gain whatever advantage he can get.

Barba_Papa

Aye, the biggest rat on the planet is called Erdogan. In fact to call a rat Erdogan is an insult to rats.

TiredOfBsToo

I disagree. The biggest rat, again no disrespect to rats as they’re fairly intelligent creatures, is Netanyahu and his sidekick Lieberman. On second thought, they don’t even vaguely compare with the intelligence of rats, more like that of rocks.

Regards Erdogan, I’m not quite sure where he’s at yet. I see reasons pro and con for him not departing NATO. At the same time, I think he’ll go with whichever nuclear powered country wins the struggle in the region.

Barba_Papa

A rat, again no disrespect to rats, is an unreliable untrustworthy backstabbing weasel. Descriptions which fit Erdogan like a glove. In contrast Netanyahu and his sidekick are just plain cardboard cartoon villains. You know what they’re like, they’re known quantities. You know what they are like, you know what you’re going to get, two complete assholes. With Erdogan you never know what you will get, will he keep to his deal, will he break it, will he do something completely else? And its not like you can trust him to look out for what’s best for Turkey or for himself, because he’s not even doing that. Therefore he is the biggest rat.

TiredOfBsToo

I know, but….. I’ve often found that the animal kingdom has more intelligence going for it than the individuals we’ve mentioned here. What I like about Erdogan, when he feels like he’s been f*cked by the ‘west’, he doesn’t back down on his response i.e. like the S-400 stuff and trading with national currencies. He does however have issues.

Barba_Papa

Just because he’s currently at odds with Washington should not endear him to you. Or anyone else for that matter. A rat will always be a rat (no disrespect to rats intended), and always, ALWAYS keep in mind, the enemy of my enemy is NOT my friend, just my enemy’s enemy. Nothing more, nothing less. A little trust goes a long way, the less you use, the further you will go.

TiredOfBsToo

I don’t endear any of these state actors. I don’t believe in “the enemy of my enemy..” either. I do believe that there’s a war going on where it’s the people of each country against the aristocracies/plutocracies of the ‘west’ intent on subjugating all to the benefit of a few. In that respect, any state which fights back against that I like and that would include Erdogan’s actions against being dominated or assassinated by the ‘west’ (as was attempted not too long ago). As for Erdogan himself, that’s up to the people of Turkey to decide just as ultimately US/UK governance is up to their own country’s inhabitants to decide. I’m anti-globalist and anti-Empire and that includes all globalists and any current of would be successor empires.

Incidentally, I’m anti-Empire not anti-American, that’s why I comment in the third person voice.

Merijn

Or Erdogan is a Trick up the Sleeve of Putin…the ace of Spades… Erdogan proved to be Unreliable so that is a perfect Role to play for him….everything is possible…. Erdogan can Outflank the Enemy out of the Blue…the Art of Deception… Sun Tzu

Barba_Papa

I think you’re attributing too much to this rat. A rat (again no disrespect to rats) will always be a rat. Erdogan can simply not be trusted. And if Putin, for understandable reasons, has to deal with this rat, he’d better be using a very long spoon and check his pockets every time he sits down with this unreliable untrustworthy utter piece of shit. No disrespect to shit intended.

Merijn

For that matter I trust very little Leaders at the Moment… they all have the “Elite-Status” and many of them are pure Rats & Cockroaches… their actions & Character in the Near Future will tell who they really are…Erdogan was not the only one Sending Headchoppers….America was in it, IsraHell was in it…Europe was in it… Wahhabistan was in it… them is all Rats…

Barba_Papa

Completely true. And yet this guy rubs me wrong the most. Others may have sent headchoppers to Syria, when it comes to Idlib and ISIS ALL had to pass through Turkey. And this guy facilitated it, profited from it and did nothing about it, until it blew up in his face, and he’s STILL doing it. He is the rat emperor as far as I’m concerned, so Putin, beware dealing with this rat of rats, the roach of roaches, for he will plant a knife in anyone’s back as its his nature.

You can call me Al

I totally agree with your comment.

TiredOfBsToo

Thank You sir :)

Jens Holm

And oh yes, they are in Idlib and the ME there all the time lowering the level.

Turks out of Nato. as well as the trade with EU should be eliminated.

FlorianGeyer

Rather like a common whore or rent boy:)

You can call me Al

That’s a little naughty for you, isn’t it ?

FlorianGeyer

I had this comment blocked on Al Masdar tonight Al.

“The US Coalition of Terror are terrified that the liberated civilians on Idlib will have disturbing accounts of the horrors that civilians have endured in Idlib.

The corporate Western MSM will not be able to conceal that.”

That was also very naughty. Or so the Zio algorithm censors thought anyway :)

russ

Neal and Bob

FlorianGeyer

Bob a Job week.

( Bob is British slang for a shilling coin. The Boy scouts used to charge a shilling for doing a small job for a householder to raise funds)

Icarus Tanović

What you trying to say is that Bob is ENGLISH lamy slang.

FlorianGeyer

Yes. For instance ‘Ten Bob’ is slang for ten shillings. Ten shillings was worth half a pound that was 20 shillings. This was before the UK adopted the metric system of currency in the 70’s.

You can call me Al

In 197? something, I won a compass, as I had worked for the most money £ 12 dong bob a job. I also found out that the tightest people are the richest.

FlorianGeyer

That’s very true. I used to ask for cash up frond when dealing with ‘professionals’ as they were the meanest of all. Doctors included. All have a sense of entitlement.

Its just not worth the aggro of selling products to such people. The traditional working class were more genuine and had better prices from me to reflect that :)

You can call me Al

When did the Turkish gain an aircraft carrier – look at the top picture !!.

Oh well, at least we shall know shortly – which side the Turkeys are on.

PZIVJ

TGC Anatolia will not be ready for at least a couple years. It will probably look like the Spanish Juan Carlos. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/184c3a45da3f9608809db931803523a7378a674a054779f836cd6f4d31a75e46.jpg

Peter Moy

The ships in the picture are of a multi-national naval exercise. The ship in front is a Turkish frigate. The carrier is the Italian ship Cavour. In the background is a US Navy Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. I couldn’t identify the ship on the left with certainty.

You can call me Al

Thanks for the info.

Jens Holm

Everything is black and white for You. Now its black. You see nothing.

Sinbad2

What makes you think that Turkey and Russia are not cooperating in this endeavor to keep the American war machine at bay? The whole world wants to get rid of America, except for Britain.

Jasminko Grdic

HEHE for sure Turkey will not help Russia in Syria. Last time Turkey was first to bomb Assad. Second the rebels get all the time Ammo and new equipment from Turkey. And now a group of Tanks and vehicles and Trucks get to Idleb. They are not there to fight Rebels for sure.

putinbeater

unfortunately both businesses needs more the empty russian household

Felix D (TUPPERWARE PARTY)

Biggest Ottoman fleet in the Mediterranean since Lepanto. Result will be the same!

Brother Ma

Please God , let it be so!??

Ivan Freely

I guess there will be a delay in that S400 delivery.

Felix D (TUPPERWARE PARTY)

Looks like the Main Event is about to get underway. The preliminary rounds were interesting and competitive, but this is for the trophy. There will be no prize for “Second Place”!

Jens Holm

You say.

Felix D (TUPPERWARE PARTY)

You don’t say?

occupybacon

What if they surprisingly announce they been invited to the drills by their Russian counterparts, wouldn’t be funny for NATO?

You can call me Al

Strangely enough, I was thinking that as well. Well, we’ll see shortly.

Jens Holm

I see no fun in all that upgrade to kill. Very primitive to have no other options in the brains of Yours.

ZP

Bork bork, bork bork and more bork bork. Pay attention to those kebabs you are stuffing with too much dog meat, the owner Pasha will beat you…

occupybacon

Why the scientists and military strategists are not asking some street poppers what to do?

Tudor Miron

“Turkey has numerously expressed its objections to an Idlib offensive, saying it would lead to disaster”(c) They were saying same BS before liberation of Eastern Ghouta and Daraa.

zman

Yes, as in E Gouta and Daraa, his pets are in the crosshairs. He is foolish enough to try to play both sides and still keep his pets, but realization that Putin has his balls in his hand is setting in. Erdo will bluster and bullshit, but in the end, he will wish to keep his nuts. Would love to be a fly on the wall at the summit.

zman

…”and is taking every precaution to protect its rights and interests in international waters”. Hmm, I have to wonder just exactly what this means. Erdo is just crazy enough to try to get back with NATO, or maybe this is a setup at NATO behest? What would NATO do if Erdo attacked a Russian or Syrian ship and they retaliated? Would they still follow the NATO pact and come to their aid? Or would Turkey take part in the Russian Navy drills? With Erdo, there are numerous possibilities and none can be ignored. In any conflict, Russia will keep a sharp eye on Turkish forces. Any sane person would.

Real Anti-Racist Action

It is time for someone to assist the ethnic-Greeks in sinking the Turkish imperial navy. For to long have the Turkish Navy been ramming and sinking Greek vessels in the Greek sea.

Jens Holm

And now the greeks are in too. Hip hip.

Next must be macedonia and serbs in Mitrivica.

Sinbad2

Maybe Greece should try getting off its knees, if it wants anyone to take them seriously.

Merijn

Well Erdogan… you can have all your “Moderate Headchoppers” back…they’ll Shove’m across your Border Dead or Alive…. no Problemo….

Sinbad2

Erdogan has swapped sides, he has dumped the American terrorists, and joined the freedom fighters. To be fair to Turkey, the US moved in after WWII, and said join us, or we will kill you.

A mighty alliance is forming, China Russia Iran Turkey and quite a few of the central Asian stans. Pretty soon the FUKUS countries will be totally shut out of Asia and Africa. The FUKUS countries are going to find they are irrelevant in the new global order, and will be forced to beg for crumbs.

Merijn

Yeah that is how I see it too….Turkey has been waiting to be accepted by the West for decades and never was… So they chose New Friends… one United Middle East will be a Great Outcome of this War… Russia can take a Leading role in this… Up till now I like their Style… China is Tricky…and can have become a Rothschild Stronghold….gotta take his System Down…would make the World a more peaceful place….no more Kiddie-Raping.. Massmurdering…Plundering Countries & Resources…

Thunder

it seems all sides have assets out there hmm?I suggest getting ur assets out then outside foreign interest countries or help with a peaceful transition.

Mustafa Mehmet

I must thank. everyone who pay compliment and respect ✊ towards Mr Erdogan much appreciated . Long live Mr Erdogan

Tom Tom

Those 50,000 fighters in Idlib will be loaded onto buses and taken to the amphibious ships. First stop, Greece. Then Italy with the plunderin’ of Rome.

Sinbad2

That’s the whole point of the Russian and Turkish ships, to stop the American ships saving the terrorists.

Tom Tom

might serve as a reason but its WW3 being set up.
