On October 27 and 28, the Turkish military deployed reinforcements in the northwestern and northeastern regions of Syria.
The reinforcements included M60 Sabra MK II main battle tanks, ACV-15 armored personnel carrier and other military equipment.
In the northwestern region, the reinforcements were situated in the countryside of Idlib, where al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is in control.

Turkey is reportedly reinforcing its forces in the HTS-held part of northwestern Syria, known as Greater Idlib, in order to stop any attack by the Syrian Arab Army and its allies.
The situation in northeastern Syria is different, however. The reinforcements sent to the region are likely a part of Turkey’s ongoing preparations to launch a new operation against the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces.
The awaited operation may target the town of Kobane in the northeastern region and a number of towns in northern Syria, including Tell Rifaat.
While Turkey is working hard to shield Greater Idlib, where terrorist groups are active, it is trying to justify its upcoming attack on northeastern Syria as a “counter-terrorism” operation. Turkey’s actions will likely be confronted by Damascus and its allies.
Some allow themself to hope those tganks and the free Russian gifts from Russia should be used as safe homes for the people living there:(
Two old timer tanks from ’50s and two apcs. Oh, that is sizeable reinforcements indeed.
Light duty armaments by the turks. Upset Russia, China & Iran and the ballistic missiles come out.
Mass destruction of all turkish “outposts” illegally operating in Syria, contrary to international law. The turks must enjoy the corner they have been put in.
