Syria’s Islamist-led interim government has requested Turkey’s support to strengthen its defense capabilities, Turkish officials told the Associated Press on July 23.
The request came following sectarian violence over the past two weeks that increased tensions in Syria and drew intervention by Israel.
Tensions escalated in the southern governorate of al-Suwayda, with violent clashes erupting between Sunni Bedouins and Druze fighters. The conflict triggered Israeli strikes on government forces which launched an attack in the governorate in support of the Bedouins. Syria’s Defense Ministry headquarters in the capital, Damascus, was also hit by Israel, which said that it was making efforts to protect the Druze.
The Turkish Defense Ministry officials told AP that Syria has also sought assistance to combat “terrorist organizations,” including ISIS.
Turkey, which has long expressed readiness to assist Syria, was working toward providing training, advisory services, and technical support to help strengthen Syria’s defense capacity, the officials add.
On the same day as AP’s report, a senior delegation of the Syrian Ministry of Defense visited Turkey’s IDEF 2025 Defense Industry Exhibition in the city of Istanbul.
Video footage that surfaced online later showed a convoy of trucks carrying brand-new Ejder 6×6 armored personnel carriers, manufactured by Turkey’s Nurol Makina, moving somewhere in northern Syria. The APCs were reportedly delivered to the Syrian military.
Turkey, which strongly supports the Syrian government led by President Ahmad al-Sharaa, has been seeking a strategic defense pact with Syria that could reportedly include establishing Turkish ground, air and naval bases on Syrian territory.
Israel has already warned that it won’t accept an enlarged Turkish military presence in the country. It even went as far as launching strikes against some of the bases scouted by Turkish officers on the coast and in the central region. Still, the recent remarks by Turkish officials indicate that Ankara is determined to go on with its plans in Syria.
How exactly Israel will react is unclear, but it is every possible that any advanced weapons supplied by Turkey, like drones or air defenses, will be targeted by the Israeli military.

so now after all the billions of us dollars spent in syria it is turkey who will be the one in control and who will profit from all the hundreds of billions of reconstruction funds that will be pouring into syria. those running the deep state and washington must be a bunch of imbicils.
dont believe everything you read. israel encroached on syrian territory even further. and no one is pushing them out. so in the end: there’s a lot of posturing and grandstanding — but nothing of substance is done against zionist terrorism.
moreover, the syrian government is asking for assistance to wage more sectarian war which is in line with zionist policy of depopulating the region of arabs.
as long as arabs are killing arabs, it’s all good and gravy by israel.
israel only gained a few km of land. that’s not worth billions. but it’s good two nato puppets will fight over syria now.
the turks are more responsible than most for the destruction of syria when they supported the invasion in 2012 of aleppo by head hacking terrorists, i hope the turks and israelis go to war and start slaughtering each other.
turkey was behind most of the “syrian civil war” in idlib. daraa in the south seemed like it was fueled by israel mostly. the turks, americans and israelis (using kurdish proxy groups) wanted their own chunk of syria.. now is their chance.
turkey already stole hatay.
now all those involved have the sectarian violence they needed to further slice and dice the country.
i guess the only question is how much are turkey and israel really adversaries in this..
they’re not: all free mas on stooges going back to attaturk, muslim brotherhood etc. take your pick; they all are tools of the lodges
donmeh erdogan is loyal to his fellow jews.
it’s much, much deeper than merely one ethnicity or religion: there is only one common link between all of the leaders in the middle east, western europe and nearly all countries on earth and it is freemasonry. pretending it is not is a deception on the whole world. wake up or quit trying to gaslight the truth. bil derburg 2025 right across the street from the lodge in stockholm.
erdogan is probably a khazar as well thats their connection. installed khazars probably in every country in the region.
turkish people will love to pay their hard earned money for headchoppers with no sense for any moral.
if they don’t shoot rabbit er”dog”an, he will shoot their family.
the turkish elites see this as a way to restore ottoman greatness and influcence over the region. they alllready have aliev doing their bidding and will slowly work on nibbling away at first armenia then georgia so all can be added to the new ottoman empire.
unless the turks look proactively for sleeper cells, they will be as vulnerable as iran which learned a rough lesson about security
so the jihadist terrorists who just butchered a few hundred druze now want assistance from turkey to combat “terrorist organizations”?
hahahahahaha… :)
according to brian berletic, there are lots of people in the sunni regions of the middle east who think the shias, iran, yemen are actually pro israel, and the sunnis are really anti-zionest.
amazing news spin they must be getting in those nations.
not different to most westerners who belive the west is fighting terrorism instead of using it as a tool against their enemys.
enough weapons to suppress the people, but not enough to pose a threat to anyone. the regime gets a handful of apcs to suppress uprisings against the islamist regime installed by the west.turkish apcs were probably the cheaper choice and islamists don’t like buying from non-believers…..
these are scripted actions for the circus act called the greater israel project
israel’s genocidal and imperialist leadership is in denial that it is trapped in endless ultimately escalating violence by the remorseless logic of its imperial / colonial / sectarian ambitions.
