On September 20, the Turkish military deployed hundreds of armored vehicles, battle tanks and trucks on the border with the northern Syrian town of Tell Abyad, which is under the control of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), according to the Hawar News Agency (ANHA).
Few hours earlier, the Kurdish news agency reported that the Turkish military shelled a school in the vicinity of Tell Abyad from its positions on the Syrian-Turkish border. Such attacks are uncommon, which suggests that Turkey is preparing for a military action of some sort.
The Turkish military and its Syrian proxies captured the Kurdish region of Afrin, in the northern Aleppo countryside, after a large-scale military operation earlier this year. Later, Turkish Army began massing troops west of the SDF-held city of Manbij, which forced the U.S. to agree to a roadmap that allowed Turkey to impact the administration of the city after the withdrawal of Kurdish SDF units.
A Turkish military operation in Tell Abyad is highly unlikely due to the presence of the US-led coalition in the city and its vicinity. However, Turkey may be planning to repeat what it did around Manbij and force Kurdish forces to withdraw from Tell Abyad.
play another record. heard this one before.
Yea. I’m sick of this tune too.
Go back to the mainstream you can probably pick up something about the Kardashians.
The thing about this fight between the Kurds and Turks, is that when a man describes one side or the other as a Turd, no one knows which ‘K’ he changed.
LMAO!! ??
I’m sure there’s a long story behind why this just happened, and I agree that an offensive is unlikely. Still, we could move an artillery piece into position over there and alieviate any fears.
oh an artillery piece it’s gonna do a whole lotta good if Turkey launches an offensive.
some bookmakers are already taking bets on how many shots it’s going to fire before being destroyed.
0 is the lowest paying quote, followed by 1.
Not if you know what you’re talking about.
something that so far you have failed to show.
besides, you could have elaborated instead of giving an half assed answer.
How many quagmires is Erdogan planning to get stuck in? Turkey is in financial trouble yet Erdogan is burning through liras like they were USD. At some point this is all going bite him in the tuchus s/
financially turkey is very strong not to worry.stop Watching to much TV
The US is doing a hit job on the Turkish economy to force Turkey to obey, the USA. So Turkey is now threatening the US mercenaries(SDF). Killing Kurds and their FUKUS officers is the only way Turkey can retaliate against the US.
Only their economic hit job may be forcing Turkey into the arms of China instead of back in line.
Yes, well as Mencken once said,
“As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”(HL Mencken)
The Turkish economy started going downhill shortly after Erdogan was first elected.
