On September 10, Turkish prosecutors issued arrest warrants for 102 active serving and former servicemen over their alleged links to the Gulen movement [also described in Turkey as the Fetullah Terrorist Organization and accused of being behind the military coup attempt in 2016].

According to a statement by the Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office in Istanbul, 89 suspects are accused of communicating with the movement’s members. The statement further revealed that police had arrested 56 of the suspects in Istanbul.

The Turkish state-media says that arrest warrants had been also released for 13 colonels, including three in active service.
