On April 16, Turkish authorities released notorious mafia boss Alaattin Çakıcı under a new law meant to counter the widespread of coronavirus in the country’s prisons by releasing tens of thousands of inmates.

Çakıcı, who started his life as a fugitive, reportedly worked for the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MİT), carrying out covert operations for the agency abroad Turkey.

In 1980, Çakıcı built a reputation as one of Turkey’s notorious crime bosses. He was indicted in 1995 for contracting the killing of his wife in front of their son before fleeing abroad. In 1998, France arrested Çakıcı and extradited him to Turkey, where he stayed in prison up until 2002.

Çakıcı was extradited again in 2004, this time from Austria. He was sanctioned to 26 years and eight months in jail for leading a criminal organization, ordering a murder and instigating assault.

Aside from his past work with the MİT and his criminal activities, Çakıcı is known to be a former member of the ultra-nationalist organization Grey Wolves.

To this day, Çakıcı enjoys good relations with Devlet Bahçeli, president of the far-right political party MHP who visited him in prison. Bahçeli’s party is now allied to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) headed by President Recep Tyyipe Erdogan.

The Turkish Parliament approved the law which allowed the release of Çakıcı on April 14. At least 90,000 inmates will be released under the law, which is supposedly meant to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus. The AKP was among the main backers of the bill.

The law was widely criticized by the Turkish opposition for covering people like Çakıcı, while excluding tens of thousands of people in jail on ‘terrorism charges’ detained simply for criticizing the government.

Releasing actual murderers while allowing political prisoners whose only “crime” was speaking out against the policies of AKP fascists, to die in hunger strikes! Truly the turkish regime is on the same level of moral bankruptcy as Israel. He will now be an honorable guest in Erdogan’s home, criminals of the same kind.

Icarus Tanović

Indeed, criminals of the same kind. While Gülen is declared terrorist and many others prominent Turkish intelectuals, who had run away from Turkey, wether with Gülen’s party or not. Under Erdogan’s regime Turkey is going down. Syria will turn into Turkey’s Vietnam.

So political dissidents and journalists are still in prison while criminals are set free, this is the true face of the Erdoğan-regime.

A big portion of these released 90,000 prisoners will be quickly trained, armed and sent to fight in both Syria and Libya.

Turkey has bit off more than it can chew. It is experiencing man-power shortages of quality fighters for both fronts. And if Turkey is planning on taking over all of Libya by force, because the Libyan people detest the brutal overlordship of the Turks, as was proven clearly in so many ways during the bitter years of Ottoman occupation, they are going to need whole entire armies. For both Syria and Libya.

There are powers in the region who want, and probably will, make Turkey bleed heavily in the Sahara Desert. Under no circumstances will Egypt allow Libya to become ruled by the Turks, with the Muslim Brotherhood enforcing its will, by proxy. That would be a big nightmare scenario for Egypt and cause it great instability, terror attacks, forced eviction-exile of a few million Egyption workers from Libya, and also an extreme amont of Libyans in the east of Libya will flee.

Turkey will shut down the section of the Libyan electrical grid, which for decades has furnished a big swath of western Egypt. An area covering about ten million Egyptians. The largest tribes of both Libya and Egypt, are intertwined across both countries borders. Some of these tribes are in excess of 1 million members. They will band together, be armed by Egyption military intelligence services, and combined, perhaps 4-6 million hardcore tribal members will bleed the Turks to death.
