The Turkish military has reportedly deployed a MIM-23 Hawk medium-range air defense system in the northern Libyan city of Misrata.
On May 24, Twitter user Aldin shared satellite images showing what appears to be a Hawk battery in the southwestern part of Misrata’s Air Academy. Turkey is the only ally of the Government of National Accord (GNA) that operates systems of this type.

In January, Turkey deployed at least one Hawk system in the Mitiga International Airport, east of the Libyan capital of Tripoli. The system has not been seen in action so far.
The Air Defense Command of the Turkish Air Force (TAF) has 16 Hawk systems, all were upgraded to the XXI standard. With the range of up to 45 km, the Hawk system can be lethal for unmanned combat aerial vehicles (UCAVs) supporting the Libyan National Army (LNA).
Turkey stepped up its support for the GNA in the last few weeks. This allowed GNA forces to make gains on the ground. Meanwhile, the LNA is reportedly reorganizing and arming its troops to strike back.
With the US now focusing on China and losing interest in the Mediterranean and ME, middle powers like Turkey are becaming extremely active.
True but the Egyptian Zionist faggot Sisi also sold out the LNA and now even the Russian Wagner group have been airlifted back to Syria. The self-anointed “Field Marshal” Hafter needs to look for another movie usher’s job at an Italian cinema as the old gold braided uniform did not work out. Infact, as I have said before Libya was NATO oil plunder operation and the biggest winners will be Turkey and Italy. Egypt should now be prepared to see more Salafist Jihadis on its western fringes along with Sinai.
turkey has no economy—propped up by China…their military is also decaying….toys will not matter…they r now nearing defeat in both Libya and Syria—as their amerikan ISIS proxies scurry to Europe they will withdraw and resume their genocidal campaign against the Kurds
Turkish air defense systems are popping up all over the place, first in Syria and now in Libya as well, so does Erdogan have enough AA systems to go around or is he leaving Turkey less defensible by doing this, probably not. He probably just has a lot of old AA systems he wants to get rid of, he’s possibly got newer and better ones on the production line as we speak, possibly even the re engineered copies of the S-400’s, or would it be too early for that. The Ottoman’s are making a comeback and the Arab’s are the only one’s opposing them, so we need a new Laurence of Arabia to take up the task, but it definitely won’t be Putin, he’s practically switched sides already.
Turkish HISAR Air Defence Systems are getting ready to replace them. And beside, the neighbourhood changed, no real Iraqi and Syrian Army left. Greece would not dare to attack Turkey. And Turkish-Russian relations are also good. And Iran would made suicide to attack a NATO Member.
I don’t think Iran will be attacking Turkey any time soon, they’re too dependent on the oil sales to Turkey.
Putin has only emboldened Turkey by cutting deals with the goat fucker Erdogan and even with headchopper terrorists. Now suddenly abandoning the LNA and withdrawing the Wagner group will set bad precedent. Firstly, it should not have gotten involved in either Syria or Libya as Arab internecine conflicts are eternal and there are NO GOOD GUYS.
Yes I agree with you there, Putin’s definitely thrown his lot in with Erdogan and abandoned all his old allies interests, what I’d like to know is what is Putin actually getting out of all these deals, he seems to get nothing in return for what he gives but that isn’t what’s happening, he is getting something but he’s not actually telling us what it is. I don’t understand Putin’s desire to keep up a good relationship with Erdogan, everyone including Erdogan himself is predicting that he’ll lose the next Turkish election in 3 years time so it seems like a waste of time on Putin’s part, I’d think he’d be much better off developing good relations with all the Turkish opposition parties, but no he still hangs onto Erdogan like his life depended on it. Politics religion and ethnicity should never be mixed in together, so the Baathists are about as close as you’re going to get to the good guys in Syria, they put politics above religion culture and racial identification.
