Turkey’s Haberturk Film Crew Shelled By Libyan National Army Appeared To Be Traveling With Armed Militants

Support SouthFront

On December 25, Turkey’s HaberTurk media outlet reported that its film crew near Libya’s Tripoli was shelled by the Libyan National Army (LNA).

Turkish media outlets operate in Tripoli in order to provide media assistance to the pro-Turkish Government of National Accord (GNA) that controls the city. The LNA, supported by Egypt, the UAE and partly Russia, is seeking to capture Tripoli.

According to HaberTurk, the LNA shelling was aimed at its journalists. However, the video released by the outlet shows that the journalists were traveling with armed GNA militants. If one moves and oeprates alongside combatants, it’s expected that he could become a target (even if unintentional) of some shelling.
