This looks like show off prototype of some suspiciously usable tank. And 42 tonnes is not pretty lightweight, it is more like medium sized one.
The Sprut is 18T and runs a 125mm gun. That is a mighty mouse. Videos of it firing look a bit brutal though.
(I would also accept APC hybrid with an oversized main gun as an acceptable description)

Mostly for propaganda. The backbone of Turkish armor is still 1950’s M-48/60 US Patton which are deployed in the occupation of northern Syria after the Leopards were mishandled resulting in their mass destruction.
Really 42 tons, almost like T-90. so what would you choose, Turkish cant or T-90?
t90s right off the bat – second hand refurbished would save a penny or two here and there.
Isn’t the term ‘light tank’ basically another name for ATGM Magnet? For some strange reason, even though the Turks have glutted their Jihadi friends with ATGM’s, they themselves seem to have done fuck all to protect their own tanks against them. As a result even the best tanks in their inventory, the Leopard 2, became Swiss cheese after having gone up against Jihadi ATGM’s. And if the Leopard 2 can be turned into Swiss cheese, this little wannabe tank will stand no chance whatsofuckingever. Not without a shitload of standoff armor and electronic protection.
The Turks modify some European weapons system and give it a new paint job and call it their own. None of these will last in real combat as even their mishandling of first rate German Leopards has shown.
