The Turkish military has established a second observation post in the vicinity of the city of Saraqib in the southeastern countryside of Syria’s Idlib, Enab Baladi, a pro-opposition outlet, reported on January 31.
A large convoy of the Turkish military, consisting of dozens of armored vehicles, trucks and even battle tanks, arrived in Saraqib a few days ago. Back then, Turkish forces established an observation post in the grain silos, southwest of Saraqib.
According to Enab Baladi, the second post was established late on January 30 north of Saraqib, near the strategic M5 highway.

Opposition activists also claimed that the Turkish military has blocked the road to the city. However, militants denied this, revealing that the road was blocked by them.
The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) is currently advancing towards Saraqib. The city is the main target of the army’s large-scale military operation in the southeastern Idlib countryside.
It remains unclear if the new Turkish observation posts were established in coordination with Russia. However, the purpose of the posts is apparent. Turkey seeks to stop the Syrian Army advance on Saraqib.

Turkish outposts never stopped the SAA before, so who cares. HTS/FSA scum need to be cleared out.
If the Turks aren’t trying to block the highway why the hell would they put an OB post right between the advancing SAA and the retreating opposition, yeah sure the rebels blocked the highway, and they did it while they were running flat out in the opposite direction from the SAA. The opposition were in fact lucky to make it to the safety of those Turkish OB posts and escape he SAA, and now the’ll get a brief chance to reorganize themselves behind them, and that’s because the SAA will have to slow down their advance as they go around/through the newly erected OB post. Russian aviation seems doing what it can to keep pressure on the terrorists, they have the very difficult job of avoiding the Turks whilst still bombing the terrorists, and luckily they have aircraft good enough to do the job, the SAAF who don’t have the right aircraft are wisely avoiding this battlezone for now, they’re instead helping out the 4th division in Aleppo. And all Erdogan’s talk about protecting the rebel in Idlib are questionable, he doesn’t have the capacity to do that in in any effective way, at least not where the rebels are fighting, bur closer to the border in Aleppo he does have the capacity to intervene and assist the rebels, that’s where Assad has a real chance of being targeted by Turkish weaponry, rockets/missiles/artillery/aircraft, so this is where we should be slowing down, the place where Erdogan can still effectively put a dog into the fight, but in southern Idlib he mostly only has the neighbourhoods cats for help, we can keep up the assault there and there’s not much he can do about it. I’m glad to see the so called assault on Aleppo has turned out to be something entirely different, I was aghast at the thought of an Aleppo campaign so early in the liberation phase, it would’ve most certainly ended in disaster, but now I see the 4th division rolling down the highway from Aleppo and the 25th division rolling up it from Maarat al Numan, I realize they fooled the lot of us, this was probably their real intention all along.
