Turkish Army Sends Battle Tanks, Armoured Vehicles And Artillery To Border With Syria (Video)

Support SouthFront

On September 9, the Turkish military deployed battle tanks, armored vehicles and artillery pieces in the southern city of Kilis near the Syrian-Turkish border, according to the Turkish Anadolu Agency. The stat-run news agency said that these heavy weapons will reinforce several posts on the Syrian-Turkish border.

Several Syrian opposition activists claimed that Turkey had also deployed more forces at its observation posts in the opposition-held part of northwestern Syria. However, these unsupported claims were viewed by local observers as an attempt to raise the morale of militants’ supporters in the region.

During the last few weeks, Turkey deployed dozens of M60T battle tanks, which had been upgraded by the Turkish ASELSAN company, in the southern province of Hatay and the southern town of Yayladağı.

While opposition activists claim that the deployment of these units is aimed at preventing the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) from launching an offensive in northwestern Syria. Other sources believe that Turkey is simply reinforcing its border ahead of the upcoming offensive to stop unwanted refugees.

Report on al Masdar earlier that a massive Turkish Convoy has entered Idlib

Promitheas Apollonious

same in the greek net news.

S Melanson

Just what is Erdogan thinking? It is one thing to straddle the middle to play both sides, but to isolate yourself and cause yourself to be surrounded by enemies with no freinds makes no sense to me.

I have read reports and analysts are really scratching their heads on Erdogan’s latest moves. What is his endgame here… does he really know or is he being swept along by the accumulated consequences of his past mistakes?

Promitheas Apollonious

a very good question which I am sure even ertogan has no idea what the answer is. His targets are very often been stated by him and his minions so if you dont know them I will tell you but I think you already know that and that is the revival of the ottoman empire.

I dont think at the end of the day turkey and russia will be allies still. The survival of a turkey as ertogan dream it and trying to build it can exist in the NWO system but not in what the ones who oppose NWO and have created their own system that cancel the existing one.

Personally i watch what is happening but the moment of truth will come to all of us as to where each is standing, when the real battle of idlip begins not the preliminaries because if someone will sell the others is then. In this case then expect war breaking also out in Mediterranean – Balkans and ukraine.

Joe Kerr

Seems you’re assessment of Erdogan’s fetish with an Ottoman revival is correct, albeit delusional. Otherwise he would’ve joined with Assad in confronting the Kurds. Perhaps he thinks that when push comes to shove, the U.S. will choose him over the Kurds… but these whims will become irrelevant if war between Russia and NATO ensues. Time moves forward, not backwards, and the Ottoman period is and will remain, dead.

Promitheas Apollonious

Is delusional for us watching yes. For the turks not so.

Ivan Freely

I’m wondering if his paranoia of the Kurds is driving his actions. Erdogan’s benefactors may have gone “All-In” in Syria; thinking victory was within their grasp. IMO, they’re full panic mode and accept whatever idea that cross their path.

potcracker2588

breaking news….germany will join forces with uk,france and usa if assad uses chem. weapons, and bomb syria…………..remember what i´ve always been writing here….take that and turkey not moving an inch……..sorry…told u folks so…..its coming….all on orders…all playing their part…

Promitheas Apollonious

well it was and is so obvious as to who is who in this game hard to miss it unless you look the other way.

PZIVJ

I thought Germany pulled their recon aircraft out of Turkey a while back. Unless I am mistaken.

Ivan Freely

IIRC, Jordan.

happened in the early morning hours…..including manpads and dozens of tanks

dds attacks typically from the US against any media outlet currently airing something the Deep State doesn’t wish to be seen at any given time. I have seen this used against Presstv often whether I attempted to watch it on cable or smart phone, been better lately, perhaps Presstv’s servers have a better defense against such attacks these days. Two ways it’s been done is 1) blocking the IP through dns server, which can be gotten around by entering the numeric address. 2) dds attacks

You can call me Al

Today, many sites are having problems + the sponsors / advertisers have all been delete – seems the shit has hit the fan.

PS I was wrong in my previous comment as I thought it was their usual glitch.

You can call me Al

Still no good, before I thought it was a slight glitch. Sorry I am wrong. Other sites are having all sponsorship removed, meaning they will go bust, This is happening now.

IN Syria:

Hide Behind

Turkey has the largest and best equipped military in the Syrian Conflict and it is well trained with many of its troops combat experienced and what is primary duty of any nations military, “To Protect its borders”. Sad to say but so called refugees from Syria have not exactly got a reputation for respecting the cultures and political systems of their refuge host. To cut of retreat routes of militants, and yes their supporters of last few years, from the onslaught of Syria’s Sovereign Militaries is a good idea. No more putting butchers and their families on busses and taking them to safe havens, they, civilians and militants lay down resistance under Syrian laws or suffer consequences. Duty of military is known, but what about the “Duty” that a Syrian owes to its national identity? In all WWII nations that FELL under Japanese, Italian and German oppressors the civilians arose as armed resistance so that their oppressors were always under stress and in fear of death by unknown, unforseen civilian arms. In Iraq the populace openly welcomed American military, in Syria initial reaction to US foreign militants was to lay down arms, run away to Damascus and Europe, or stay to become resources of invaders. We in states call such call such actions as Sunshine Patriots, they profess to being national or religious until the dark clouds of chaos appear,

Jim Prendergast

I would beg to differ re: Iraqis welcoming Am Mil., but I feel that you are right about Turkey containing emigrating militants. Perhaps selectively.

Hind Abyad

“Sad to say but so called refugees from Syria have not exactly got a reputation for respecting the cultures and political systems of their refuge host.”

In 1915 Turkey with Bolshevik Jews committed Armenian – Assyrian Genocide down to Mount Lebanon Christians, who starved to death.

“In the beginning of the Syrian Civil War, Turkey trained defectors of the Syrian Army on its territory, and in July 2011, a group of them announced the birth of the Free Syrian Army, under the supervision of Turkish intelligence.[44] In October 2011, Turkey began sheltering the Free Syrian Army, offering the group a safe zone and a base of operations. Together with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, Turkey has also provided the rebels with arms and other military equipment. Tensions between Syria and Turkey. Turkey also provided refuge for Syrian dissidents. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/bc6986fc3e794e57fe284c2a76cfd24e803b5641a4d55836c0ce071315b29a80.jpg https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/e7b17647175754e3917efc66f1973a24cc5bfbea488d45c75f5eb4f6655ebbfa.jpg “Syrian opposition activists convened in Istanbul in May 2011 to discuss regime change,[46] and Turkey hosts the head of the Free Syrian Army, Colonel Riad al-Asaad.[47] Turkey has become increasingly hostile to the Assad government’s policies and has encouraged reconciliation among dissident factions. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has been trying to “cultivate a favorable relationship with whatever government would take the place of Assad.”[48] Beginning in May 2012, some Syrian opposition fighters began being armed and trained by the Turkish National Intelligence Organisation.[49]

Human rights groups, including the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and Human Rights Watch have reported that Turkish troops have killed hundreds of civilians fleeing the civil war in Syria.[50] This includes 69 children and 34 women killed by Turkish border guards.[51]”

Who Supports ISIS? Who is the real terrorist?

Research Paper: ISIS-Turkey Links

https://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-l-phillips/research-paper-isis-turke_b_6128950.html

COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF HUMAN RIGHTS Research Paper: ISIS-Turkey Links By David L. Phillips

Is Turkey collaborating with the Islamic State (ISIS)? Allegations range from military cooperation and weapons transfers to logistical support, financial assistance, and the provision of medical services. It is also alleged that Turkey turned a blind eye to ISIS attacks against Kobani.

The Kurds want their independence from Turkey (20 million living in Turkey).

The Turks hate the Kurds… but somebody else has to do the dirty job (Hense ISIS — Daesh is created).

Turkey provided Daesh with NATO weapons, military equipment and chemical weapons such as sarin. Turkey Supported Daesh Financially Through Purchase Of Stolen Oil and assists Daesh recruitment. Turkey Offered Medical Care To Daesh, Daesh militants go to Turkey frequently to rest and take a break from fighting. Turkey Provided Transport And Logistical Assistance To Daesh. Turkish special forces have fought alongside Daesh and helped Daesh In the battle for Kobani. Turkey And Daesh Share A Worldview.

Erdogan’s bank accounts in Switzerland and elsewhere are made of Kurdish and Yazidi blood, stolen Iraqi and Syrian oil and the money made by human traffickers smuggling illegal immigrants to the EU through the Greek islands of the Aegean Sea. It shouldn’t really come as a surprise these dirty Turkish tricks … they are the ones that comitted genocide against the Armenians, the Greeks, the Assyrians, the Bulgarians and against the Kurds in the past !

The fake chemical attack videos have already been made by the Award winning White Helmutts..Its just a matter of timing,All the zionist lying MSM have been briefed, and of course the witch in the UN,Nikki Hately will be rehearsing her sorrowful speech about the murder of innocent women and children by the Syrian regime.and demanding the destruction of facilities and infrastructure belonging to the same people as punishment,,How crazy and satanic is that zionist logic? This time i hope the Russian,Syrian,Iranian,Hezbollah resistance give a massive response to any illegal murderous attacks on its forces. This will be the deciding moment of all the wars in the ME,its now or never.

S Melanson

Nikki Hately has no need to practice her speech as it comes from the well worn Western playbook of lies, deception and false flags for which she edited and updated the latest edition.

I think Nikki will be doing a book signing tour to promote the 50th Edition of a truly great expose of the American tradition of invading countries under false pretexts – the US has intervened violently in at least 50 sovereign nations since WWII.

Turkey’s actions, along with their desire to take Syrian land, is why it’s dangerous for Russia to provide Turkey with S-400s while denying Syria the same. I have a difficult time understanding why Russia finds it ok to sell these systems to Turkey and Saudi Arabia, both countries (along with Israel) who covet Syrian land and yet deny these same systems to Syria, the country it purports to support. Helping Syria to rid itself of terrorists now, but refusing to supply Syria with defensive capabilities that it’s giving freely to those that desire to destroy the Syrian state in the future, is perplexing to me.

©igare☘☘e?Sm⚽️k?ng?Man️?

Apart from the obvious, wants to sell weapons for profit like every other US company, there are geostrategical reasons…

Turkey is a NATO member, the second after the US on quantity of weapons and troops, and its near Russia. Russia would love to pull Turkey away from NATO for that reason alone.

Also Turkey has control of the The Bosporus (/ˈbɒspərəs/) or Bosphorus (Greek: Βόσπορος, Bósporos , also known as The Strait of Istanbul (Konstantinopolis)… …that connects the Black Sea to the Mediterranean through the Aegean Sea…

https://i.imgur.com/tg8JhxT.jpg

Which is essential for Russian warships …

TiredOfBsToo

I’m aware of all of that still, it does leave Syria defenseless to invasion from 2 unfriendly countries which have plowed terrorists into Syria to destroy it. Turkey has not left NATO and is only concerned with ridding itself of Kurds on it’s border. Erdogan also has not shown any friendliness towards Assad or Syrians in general except towards those who sided with Turkey and terrorists as is now being displayed regarding Idlib. Interesting too that Erdogan’s desire not to strike Idlib is being echoed by the US, UK and France.

Supplying S-400s, a defensive weapon, to Syria would ensure Syria’s survival from overly aggressive neighbors.

Ricky Miller

No it wouldn’t. It would help a great deal with air defense, true. But apart from widespread modernized additions in other military equipment it can’t ensure Syria’s survival. But if Turkey uses both her Army and geographic position to blunt the Idlib assault than I predict four consequences: 1) Bye bye S400. 2)Bye bye gas pipeline deal. 3) New trade and travel restriction between Russia and Turkey and 4) Turkey owns Idlib. Literally. Every attack arising from Idlib will result in large scale aerial reprisals and will be tied by Moscow to Turkey’s military control and responsibility for the region. Hopefully Turkey closes the straights to Russian naval traffic and the Admiral Grigorovich class Frigates can find better employment in both the Baltic and Northern Fleet areas.

Ricky Miller

And really just imagine it. For several weeks and months the Turks will be so proud. A region with a Turkish minority (and tens of thousands of foreign jihadist fighters) has been placed in Turkish protection from President Assad. But five years from now it’ll be a money and blood pit cesspool. A year later it’ll be worse than the Pakistani tribal regions. A year later Turkey will be begging Assad to take it back. Please.

Chris P

I agree. Turkey is playing with fire dealing with Terrorist. On the other hand, A pipeline is a sure thing and one of the biggest problems for Turkey. NAT GAS. USA is seen as a much bigger enemy to Turkey than Russia. No comparison. USA has devalued the Turkish Lira and is trying to destroy Turkey’s economy. They know this too. What has Russia and Syria done to threaten Turkey really. What about Israel and the Jerusalem issue, who support this, Russia or USA? Muslim are more likely to hate American than Russians too because of this. So many reasons that Turkey must establish a good relationship with Russia.

TiredOfBsToo

“No it wouldn’t.”

I shouldn’t have said ‘ensure’, I was thinking of how defenseless a country is when it has no way of taking down aircraft striking it; there goes all of the armor or ability to run convoys of equipment. Having air defense keeps one from being freely overrun. Of course many other things come into play at that point such as: who is the attacking force, quantity of troops, weapon types and of course, desire to fight. Defenders of their homes have a much greater fighting spirit than those of their invaders even when faced with superior weaponry. How long has the US been in Afghanistan now. Having air defense would definitely make an aggressor think twice. Even Israel hesitates to fly over Syria since they’ve had a few planes hit, preferring typically to fire from Lebanese air space, but your points are valid and I especially like your follow up to yourself… “..to take it back. Please.”

Jens Holm

Israelhas an agreement with russia about Syria and Hesbollah/Iran.

Icarus Tanović

4.Aint gonna happen. Turkey is too involved with Chtz, talking about billions of dollars that it won’t go against Russia in any direction. Not to mention pipeline projects. And, after all those seas are high ones, so Turkey has no rights to closes straits. Go inform your self.

Ricky Miller

In case of conflict Turkey has a legal right to close the straights. It’s a part of the Convention governing passage. Turkish tanks firing at Russian SOF and being bombed by Su34’s would be more than enough conflict. In fact Russia would not even attempt a passage under those conditions. As for Turkey not going against Russia I would reply that they are already. Turkey is moving columns of military equipment into Idlib to block the offensive and has in the past provided the Manpads used to shoot at and even down a Russian aircraft.

Promitheas Apollonious

is only concerned with ridding itself of Kurds on it’s border………………….

You confuse the excuse used by the turks as to why they went into Syria. You seem not to take into consideration in your thinking that Turkey is one of the countries who directly created and supported isis still do.

Think again.

TiredOfBsToo

Ummmm, very much aware of Turkey’s involvement with Terrorists and why he doesn’t want his friends in Idlib to be eradicated, but he’s now in a dilemma. He’s fighting his desire to take Syrian land, but also desiring the benefits of Russian tourism, trade, gas and joining other organizations such as BRICS etc.

Bill Wilson

ISIS never owned fleets of tank trucks. They sold oil at the fields to whomever showed up with a tank truck and the cash to fill it up. They didn’t care where the oil went once the trucks left the terminals.

TiredOfBsToo

Ownership of trucks is irrelevant, more than likely Syrian owned before the plague descended on Syria supported by the West. What is important is that, until Russia entered to destroy the terrorists, the oil tanker convoys headed to Turkey for the oil to be sold. Other relevant points are that weapons and terrorists transited freely across the Turkish border into Syria just as they did and continue to across Jordan’s border with the blessing of the US at AlTanf.

Now we enter the period where the US and British are worried about their agents embedded with the terrorists of Idlib. I haven’t heard so much howling since they were worried about their agents in Allepo.

Mustafa Mehmet

how you gone pay for it? nothing comes free …next 50 year syria in dip shit becouse of 1 man ,assad owes lots lots even his ass blong to putin now

Ricky Miller

The S-400’s being built are already paid for. That’s the beauty of a Syrian gift. The Russian government paid Almaz for them and put Ankara on a repayment schedule. Turkish military actions which render the deal moot will lead to S400’s sitting around of not much use to Russia as they are built to export standards. Buying S400’s right now carries sanctions risks (Although Algeria has bought them on the down low) so why not gift them to Syria?

Fred

Assad guarantees Russia a naval base and port on the Mediterranean and both Russia and Turkey know that unless the US-led regime change operations are ended in Syria, then Iran and Russia are their next victims. Also, Turkey knows that the West is living on the economic edge and that the shift in power is to Asia away from the US and Europe. Thirdly, US promises and agreements mean nothing these days.

The world also sees the same kind of turmoil, fakery and amorality in current-day US domestic politics and elections as that nation exercises in its sociopathic militaristic foreign policy. Finally, most Muslims around the world, be they Sunni or Shia, are waking up to the fact that nations like the US and the UK are ruled essentially by crooks and thugs and that crime, corruption, materialism, and cultural Marxism are the norm. Do they want to become like us? Of course not.

The history of the West, and particularly that of the US and the UK, has been that of wars, violence and exploitation covered by a thin veneer of Christianity. Turkish history and methods may not be any more decent or honorable, but in looking at the map they can at least see that there is a better chance for the people of Asia, Asia Minor, and Europe to prosper through fair dealing and cooperation rather than through the corrupt methods, opportunism, and extortions which have emanated from these two nations. You can add France to the shit list as well. I say this as a Christian.

Jens Holm

Much of Yours are very twisted more like horses becomes zebras.

Fx the GDP for USA and EU are bigger then ever. There are probkemns here and there. You also say China will take over, but You dont see the good part as well as the delays.

China makes cake bigger. It does not say many of the rest becommes smaller or poor at all.

Besides that You forget China now is like a new car. Those has to cleaned and updates all the time and the more car You have the more You have to put into cleaning and updating, fule and like that. Furthermore its my guess, that the 700.000 million poor has to be updated at least some. Many are very, very poor in “the other sector”.

So I expect they will grow but slowed down to our level. But I am not worried about it. It fine if much more chineses are not as poor as we have seen so many pictures of. …………………………………………

I see no muslims wake up. I see almost all muslims react against their own and change too little in themselves. Thats why people leaven and prefare to live where we are and and among sekulars and Christians.

But true we are blamed from big oilproducers not even are able to produce simple plastic buckets to themseleves. Most of the agriculture of Yours is from ancient times even You import a lot of food. In Syria as well as Iraq we see billions of tons like fx in Egypt and Pakistan evaporate to the air as well making more and more salry fields. Production changes here is simple, but You just are babling in no change. …………………………………………………………

Let me remind You USA is a very, very new player in this. You also deny there was internal wars in fx India until britts came and helped some and defeated others. There fx also was a cpountry between Egyot and Sudan a.s.o.

Ottomans was no calm an peacefull place ar the planet the last many Years as well as a minim Russia took over great parts of Caucasus. The lists are long, but You have to blame many.

But true west took over a lot influence. But wasnt the reasons a lot og mismanegement. Well, I forgot Japan too.

That naval base dates back from ’50s, for yo info.

S-400 are useless against russian Su35M and other upgraded aircrafts including Su25 close support jests and Ka-52, Mil Mi-24 battle helicopters used in Syria, because all of them have electronic countermeasures making them imune to all known MANPADs, SAMs and AAMs as well. It is not so easy to shut down up to date modernised russian aircrafts, especially with russian SAMs :D. Aka Erdogan is an IDIOT :D

TiredOfBsToo

Russia has provided Syria with weaponry and training for self defense, but as I understand it, has not committed to defending Syria. Russia has committed to defeating terrorism, defending it’s own forces in Syria and attempting to find a diplomatic solution to the war. Your argument will attain relevance when Russia defends Syria against Israeli, US, UK and French attacks on the Syrian military and infrastructure, until that time, your argument works for Russia defending Russia.

telemetrie

You don’t understand. Erdogan is not trusted by Russia. Don’t forget he downed at least one russian aircraft SU24 and he supports Turkmens and FSA, which are both in anti Assad coalition. And by the way, Turkey claims 150 km deep buffer zone in northern Syria including big cities like Afrin, al-Bab, Azaz, Dabiq, Jarabulus, Jindires, Raco and Shaykh al-Hadid. And in the last meeting between Russia, Iran and Turkey, there was little understanding for Russian demand to restore Syria in prewar borders from Turkey. Aka Erdogan is an idiot with big EGO and he overestimates his military possibilities against all his enemies including proUS Kurds, Assad and possibly Russia and Iran as well. If Erdogan starts fighting with Russia, he will be eliminated to ashes.

TiredOfBsToo

I concur with your first paragraph. What I’ve seen of the outcome of the latest summit is just that Erdogan wanted a cease fire, while Russia claimed the terrorists weren’t at the table. As I understand it now, Russia will give Turkey the coordinates where the terrorists are and expect Turkey to take care of the extermination.

I don’t believe Erdogan is an idiot, switches allegiances when he feels it’s beneficial, yes. Has the 2nd largest military in NATO and knows it, yes. Will fight with Russia, not unless he feels NATO will come in on his side and win the war; providing it also allows him to dispose of the Kurds.

Right now, Erdogan is satisfied with tourism between Turkey and Russia, the gas pipeline that’s coming, trade, possibly joining the Brics and other organizations with Russia. That doesn’t mean he won’t fight the Syrian army itself to grab territory and Russia has not stated they will defend Syria as I stated above. If Russia hasn’t defended Syrian territory from Israel and US, not to mention from UK & French bombing adventures, what makes you think that Russia will defend Syria from Turkey taking some territory? I’d love to hear your answer to that.

Jens Holm

Russians did not make that promise at all.

Icarus Tanović

Maybe an idiot, but not fool.

Hind Abyad

Russia owe Syria (Mesopotamia) their Greek Orthodoxy. They and.will defend mother Russia from Christian killers as of now the West, US, Israel, UK, France, Middle East -Turkey the Gulf Muslim countries are allies. You can be sure Russia will defend M.E. Christianity. Millions were massacred crucified in Iraq under the watchful eyes of the West, in Syria..4 millions fled.

For years, Israel buying Christians refugee’s properties from Kurd allies for Jewish settlers. Palestinian territories has Evangelicals Christian Zionist settlers, plans are to replace the original Christian of the Holy Land.

the first thing is, you moron, that tha buyers hack the system. look at persia, china.

Jens Holm

Why are You not just happy about some fools buying stuff for billions having a value of 0.

Erdogan is not buying S400s for protection against Russia. They are for USA/NATO aircraft. After Syria, Iran or Turkey is next.

Jens Holm

If so, they all must be more stupid then You. More like You are immune for several facts Yourself.

You also ignore Turks want to learn to produce own weapons by not only copy them.

Jens Holm

I dont care, but nice with improvements. But dont make them into “invincible” or something like that. Right away a weapon will get a counterway to do things.

Icarus Tanović

Hahaha, you serious?

vagueremind

Well Israel did more then just protest against Iran, Syria and any other country it finds on its attack list. The question here is why Israel did not protest Turkey having S400? I mean we all know about Saudi Arabia in cahoots with Israel, so Israel dont mind Arabia having S400… Turkey cannot be trusted just like Saudi Arabia (add Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Bahrain etc)

TiredOfBsToo

That’s a good question.

Mustafa Mehmet

Icarus Tanović

Awright baby, now rats are trapped!

Xanatos

The US threat is part bluff, part real.

It’s a bluff in so far that they really can’t stop Syria from regaining idlib short of whatever portion turkey invades. Cruise missile attacks mean nothing without troops on the ground.

It’s real because the us is threatening to invade all of eastern Syria, joining tanf to raqqa with an invasion of Palmyra and deir ezzor.

The advantage is this will separate Syria from Iraq. The disadvantage is idlib is more valuable than Palmyra or deir ezzor. Also, claiming the entire Euphrates from manbij to abukamal will mean over three million Arabs policed by a token force of 30,000 Kurds. The us will have to shore it up with a force of 30,000 at least. An expensive occupation, even if the saudis are paying for it. Furthermore , it pushes turkey firmly against the us presence, as this is now a Kurdish super state larger than the one in Iraq.

Joe Kerr

Fine, let them come and burn… Hezbollah has the matches.

gustavo

Turkey has taken Russia by its eggs (as some could say it), Why ? Because with such economical sharing of S-400, Trukey pile line, and nuclear reactor, now, Russia does not know what to do with Turkey in Syria. Will russia bomb Turkey army in Syria to help Syria army with its advance ?
