Turkish Army To Establish New Observation Posts In Northwestern Syria – Report

The Turkish military is working to establish four new observation posts in the southern countryside of Syria’s Idlib, the pro-opposition Syria TV revealed on February 27.

“Turkey leased real estates and farms in the area between Tell Sultan and Saraqib in order to establish four new posts with the aim of observing the implementation of the de-escalation agreement,” the Turkey-based channel said in its report.

Last year, the Turkish military established twelve observation posts in western Aleppo, southern Idlib, northern Hama, and northern Lattakia. These posts were established under an agreement, which was reached within the framework of the Astana work group on Syria. Later, they became a part of the demilitarized zone agreement.

Syria TV also confirmed that the Turkish military will begin patrolling the demilitarized zone around Idlib next month. This step is a part of a new Russian-Turkish attempt to revive the de-escalation agreement.

Pro-government sources believe that Turkey is taking advantage of its agreements with Russia and Iran to expand its influence in northwestern Syria and protect radical militants there. One of the most important signals that the de-escalation agreement is collapsing is that militants have stepped up their attacks on government-controlled areas recently.

Like anyone expected anything else from the Snake of Ankara. Satan is more trustworthy then Erdogan.

Does Russia have something to do with this ? Turkey and its terrorists are in control of Idlib thanks to Russia-Turkey agreement, where Russia try to please Turkey on Idlib.

Jens Holm

Of course they have. They could have kept Afrin in a Syrian context even 50-100 driven by YPG. They got tired of the ultimative demands from Assads. Its also practical for them having less to care and Assads might be easier to handle.

Thats oppinions of my own about it. Even Israel must be happy.

Poor Turk

does anyone know what happened in the meantime to the parts of Syria that are under government control?

Mustafa Mehmet

good one

Bill Rood

They are rebuilding despite Western sanctions and lack of any Turkish reparations for industrial equipment stolen from Aleppo during its partial occupation, and which was fenced by the Erdogan crime family. Google Beeley or Bartlett.

Jens Holm

We again shall here about that stolen junk. The rebuilding is very symbolic as well, just some expensive high techs none apart from baathistas can effort.

And the rest. We hardly are allowed to hear about it. I wont write, what I know and feel. Only the regulars of the right kind are ok.

Ivanus59

They got this all wrong. The solution to the problem is having LESS turks, not more of them. -.-
