The Turkish-backed Syrian National Army (SNA) has toned down its attack on the town of Ain Issa in the northern countryside of Raqqa after failing to make any gains.

SNA militants, backed by the Turkish Armed Forces, launched early on December 18 a large-scale attack on positions of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the outskirts of Ain Issa.

According to the Hawar News Agency, SDF fighters repelled several ground assaults by the SNA on the town of Mushayrifah. The town is located near Ain Issa, along the M4 highway that links Raqqa with al-Hasakah from the east and Aleppo from the west.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said nine militants of the SNA were killed in clashes near Ain Issa.

Turkish-backed militants are toning down their attack on Ain Issa. Clashes are winding down. However, the Turkish Armed Forces are still shelling the town and its outskirts.

Units of the Russian Military Police and troops of the Syrian Arab Army, which are deployed around Ain Issa, didn’t take part in the clashes. Nevertheless, a Syrian soldier was injured by Turkish shelling, according to SDF sources.

SNA sources said earlier today that the attack on Ain Issa was a “limited military operation.” The operation, which is nearing its end, appears to be a complete failure. The SDF, however, will for sure reconsider its presence in northern Raqqa due to the growing Turkish threat.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Putin and Erdogan’s bluff failed, lol, better luck next time. Putin warns the SDC/SDF to relinquish control of the town or the Turks will probably attack, and coincidentally the Turks attack the town a few days later, that’s not a sign there was good Russian intel, it was a sign there was collusion of the worst kind, and blackmail as well. There was no real attempt to take over the area, that was just Putin and Erdogan playing their usual game of ‘we’re smarter than all you other dumbf–ks’, both of them must be senile, no one with any brains fell for that, especially not the SDC/SDF.

Why didn’t the Russians support the Turkish assault? I think Turkey should sue the Russians in the International Court which I’m sure exists somewhere.

Willing Conscience (The Truths
