Turkish-backed militant groups, commonly referred as the Free Syrian Army (FSA), are preparing to storm remaining positions of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) south of the city of Afrin, according to pro-FSA sources.
The Turkish Armed Forces (TAF) and the FSA captured the city of Afrin from the YPG last weekend. Since then, Turksih forces have been securing their recent gains in northwestern Syria.
On the same time, few reports have appeared about clashes between the FSA and the YPG near the village of Halisa. This may also indicate that the FSA and the TAF are aiming to capture the remaining positions of the YPG in the area.
The town of Tell Rifaat has been for a long time a core of the tensions between the YPG and the FSA in northern Aleppo. So, the FSA leadership will be happy to use any opportunity to capture it.
The problem is that the YPG has recently handed over a number of checkpoints in the area to the pro-government National Defense Forces and the Syrian Arab Army. So, the FSA advance on Tell Rifaat may trigger a conflict between Turkish and Syrian forces in the area.
This will be really interesting. BTW, the SAA shelled Turkish-held Antioch and new “observation post” near Aleppo.

Allegedly shelled. One could also be tempted to believe that just such an incident, staged or not, would be a good and welcomed occasion for the terrorists(FSA) to rage more and grab some territory.

Nope, would not happen. If he fully invades Syria, then he has the Russians to deal with. America is not going to help because they do not want to tangle with the Russians. Nuclear powers absolutely do not want to fight one another, ever. Turkey would not hold up well against Russian Air defense and there would be an air war. NATO would also be unhappy with Turkey, a lot more than they have been, due to not wanting to provoke Russia. In 1939, Hitler knew that British and French were not militarily prepared and would take forever to respond. That is not the case with Iran and Russia backing Syria. The situations are very different and Turkey will not invade.

In the beginning of April,1939 Supreme Command of German armed forces set about elaborating plan of the offensive war against Germany – whereas Polish plan of the offensive war against Germany WAS APPROVED on March 22,1939. And what is more, Mr.Pilsudsky wrote in “Mocarstwowiec” journal in 1930 :”We distinctly understand that war between Poland and Germany is inevitable. And we have to take drastic measures to prepare for that war…We will not take prisoners of war, there will be no place for humanitarian feelings in this war. We will bring the whole world in shock with our war against Germany.”
