On February 14 afternoon, the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and its allies repelled yet another attack by Turkish-backed militants on its newly-established positions in the western countryside of Aleppo.
The attack, which targeted the towns of Kafr Halab and Miznaz, was repelled in a matter of a few hours. As usual, the attack was carried out by al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the National Front for Liberation (NFL).
SAA forces destroyed two vehicles of the attackers, including an ACV-15 armored personnel carrier (APC) that had been apperently supplied by Turkey. Two other vehicles, up-armored trucks, were captured by the army. The Abkhazian Network News Agency (ANNA) released photos showing the destroyed and captured vehicles as well as the dead bodies of many militants.

HTS and the NFL didn’t acknowledge the attack in what appears to be an attempt to hide their losses. However, some opposition activists confirmed that a “counter-attack” was launched in the region.
Two days ago, the army repelled a similar attack in western Aleppo. The Turkish military appears to be playing a key role in these repeated attacks in the region, by providing the militants with weapons and even fire support.
