Turkish-Backed Militants Target Syrian Army Positions With Guided Missiles (Videos)

Support SouthFront

Militants of the National Front for Liberation (NFL) carried out on January 21 a series of attacks on Syrian Arab Army (SAA) personnel and positions in Greater Idlib using anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).

Two of the attacks targeted a position and a gathering of Syrian troops in the towns of al-Tah and Abu Dafr in Idlib’s southeastern countryside.

The third attack targeted a fortified army position in the town of Attera in the Turkmen mount in the northern Lattakia countryside.

Several Syrian service members were reportedly killed or injured in these ATGM strikes. The exact number of the SAA’s losses was not revealed by any source.

Earlier this week, several opposition sources reported that Turkish-backed militants in Greater Idlib have received a new batch of U.S.-made TOW anti-tank missiles (ATGMs) from the U.S. or Turkey. These claims are yet to be verified.

Well of course if the Syran and Russian forces are to remain idle then terrorists are the ones who will take the initiative and attack. But I sense a large offensive to punish the terrorists and liberate more territory is coming up in February.

Z.P.

It is up to SAA command to decide when and where…nobody else. Rusian’s will not rush them into anything if they are not ready. Syrian and Russian air-force will follow the plan..

I hope that you are right about “large offensive”… I hope this pause will be worth waiting for something big..

You can call me Al

God willing.

As usual no ring of snipers, small drones and ATGM team protecting SAA assets….

You can call me Al

ENOUGH – Bomb the whole area to hell, please Russia and Syria.

Assad must stay

Putin is too busy sucking up to er do shit, I don’t think he worries too much about idlib, its a damn shame honestly, Russian needs a MUCH stronger and meaner leader

gustavo

Well,…not comment.

France is coming to invade, it should be easy by the looks of SAA failure.

I’m deeply disturbed, and frustrated, that the SAA are always getting caught out in these attacks. They really need to change tactics and reformat them selves as teams headed up by well trained Spetznaz operatives. They need to remain mobile and fluid, not allowing enemy intel to get a fix on their location. Moreover, they need to seal their borders as well as is possible. These ISIS assassination terrorist groups are being led by expert foreign operators, either US, UK or Israeli or even NATO, ( SAS, RANGERS, OR SEALS ?) and they have enough mobile comms and intel equipment, that they can remain independent. The Russians never get caught out, but the SAA do, and its about time, after all the field experience that they have accumulated, that they apply it, or very soon they will lose hundreds, maybe thousands of soldiers thro’ this form of attrition.

Debunking Arrogance

How can they do this with Turkey and the US supplying the rebel terrorists?

Assad must stay

I wish I could mow down all these rats myself, where the hell is tiger forces????

Willing Conscience (The Truths

Why doesn’t SF just say, the Turkish backed moderate opposition used Turkish supplied missiles to attack Syrian positions while they were supposed to be adhering to a Turkish brokered ceasefire.
