The Turkish-backed National Front for Liberation (NFL) targeted on August 13 and 14 several vehicles and a gathering of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) east of the town of Khan Shaykhun in Idlib’s southern countryside with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).
The strikes destroyed two truck-mounted 57mm cannons, a battle tank and a vehicle near the towns of Sukayk and Tell Maraq. A gathering of Syrian soldiers in the outskirt of Tell Tar’I was also hit.
While these strikes halted the SAA advance east of Khan Shaykhun, the army was able to reach the town’s western entrance after securing the villages of Kafr Ayn, Tall Aas, Khirbat Murshid and Mantar.
This intense use of ATGMs indicates that Turkey is still supporting the NFL, which is now defending positions of Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and other al-Qaeda-affiliated groups in Greater Idlib.
Bomb all Turkish army forces in Syria.
It’s unfortunate that the SAA is getting hit. But the Yinon plan terrorists with no air cover are getting the worst of it by far. And are steadily losing ground as the SAA rolls up village after village.
Enough now, kill them all, the Turkish, these scum, HTS and Americans.
Don’t forget about their women and children.
Whoops, no comment.
Some of the SAA units still have no fieldcraft sense. Standing in a gaggle when in a combat zone is daft, especially when there is an abundance of cover a few yards away.
Brave men are just wasted when their leaders allow this.
At least half the SAA soldiers you see in the combat footage are EX FSA rebel fighters that have been conscripted into the SAA. During the victorious Daraa/Quneitra campaign the southern branch of the FSA decided to give up fighting and reconcile with Assad, more than 25,000 in total were conscripted into the SAA, and now they always make up at least half of all combat troops that are sent into battle in Hama. Last year they were sent into combat in their own ex FSA units, but either lost badly or defected when they could, so this year they’re being sent in in combined units of equal measure, half SAA and half conscripted ex FSA, and this year there have been no mass defections, just a few losses. So at least half the SAA casualties in Hama are ex FSA fighters, possibly even more since the SAA usually send them in as cannon fodder, so it’s not just the brave SAA soldiers that are dying in Hama, it’s probably mostly ex rebel fighters that are dying in battle. It’s also a way for Assad to get rid of the undesirables he doesn’t want, so maybe the SAA soldiers you mentioned were in fact ex FSA fighters being sent to the frontlines to die as cannon fodder, purposely.
They need to be constantly aware that US and Turkish drones and reconnaissance satellites are monitoring them and reporting their positions to the Daesch head-choppers. They must not stop moving and must not group.
I must admit that I am also worried about that.
Why don’t you give them a hand?
Any body fat, muscle, arms and training going ion anywhere….. oh knock a few years off me as well and would welcome the opportunity to go.
Give them your pussy and go “kill them all”
The Turkish bastards arm them, so they sent their convoy to the area. They will die the same and have their 70 goats.
An admittedly hostile news source claims that small groups Hezbollah fighters have joined the fight for Idlib!
So what? They should be there. They are also threatened by the Turks and US and Zionist-controlled armies. It’s good training for what they face across their southern border.
Oh, I certainly agree and Wish there were more to grind up Al Nursa defenses.
Turkish supplied TOWs and vehicles.
Bad news. Equipment can be replaced, the men are gone and died horribly being burned alive. Somehow Erdogan and the US invaders who have killed SAA must be made to pay for this.
The “intense” use of ATGMs does not indicate that Turkey is supporting them. Engineers are digging up ATGMs still in Southern Syria from hidden ammo dumps all over the place. The terrorists have thousands of them, and now is a good time to use them. But SAA will prevail!
