Turkish-Backed Militates Defected To SDF, Government Forces In Northeast Syria: Monitoring Group

Illustrative image.

A number of Turkish-backed militants in northeast Syria have defected to the Syria Democratic Forces (SDF) and government forces, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on August 12.

According to the London-based monitoring group, three officers of the Styrian Free Military Police, a law enforcement body backed by Turkey, escaped from the Turkish-occupied town of Ras al-Ain in northern al-Hasakah. The officers surrendered to the SDF.

The SOHR also revealed that up to fifteen militants of the Turkish-backed Syrian National Army escaped from Ras al-Ain over the last week. The militants headed to areas held by Syrian government forces in northern al-Hasakah.

“It is possible that they were working for the Syrian regime intelligence in the ranks of factions loyal to Ankara,” the group said in its report.

A state of lawlessness is prevailing over Turkish-occupied areas in northeast Syria. In the last few months, a series of bombings and several rounds of infighting claimed the lives of dozens of people, including militants, there.

The Turkish military and its proxies have been taking no measures to secure these areas. Ankara is turning a blind eye to the situation there. Therefore, fighters that do not support the current state of the affairs in the region switch their side defecting from Turkish-backed forces.

SDF is already full of ex-ISIS/al-Qaeda terrorists. The US may promise them full support and riches but they’ll simply be subjugated to Kurd terrorist handlers and whenever the US has no more use for them, they’ll send Kurdish terrorists to hunt them.

Fog of War

” Kurd terrorist handlers and whenever the US has no more use for them, they’ll send Kurdish terrorists to hunt them. ”

No they wont. They’ll become part of the ever growing SDF main and oil protection forces. The ZioAmericans pay very handsomely when they want to.

Jens Holm

I dont think they will. I dont think being member of that armed civile police paid by Turks makes them attractive.

But more defecters might make changes for many there if more do it.

This is not about money at all.

Fog of War

The SDF and ZioAmerica had no problem taking in ISIS. I think they’ll accomodate the Turkish proxies very well.

Jens Holm

There has been not a single sign for that the last 6 years.

All FSAs has been expelled. I can only see Your comment as 200% evil propaganda trying to demonize Kurds as many do here.

Fog of War

Please improve your English before commenting any more. You’re hard to understand and have no right to bucher the language. Thanks.

Jens Holm

I learned to red, write and understand Your kind of Lawyers english when I was 16 to 18 years old.

Its outdated unless You have that kind of job. Normal people dont use it but faster and more effective versions partly related to spoken english.

I dont butcher. As many others I inovate and use casus and grammer parts, which You dont seemes to have in Yours at all.

Fog of War

You’re an idiot.

Jens Holm

Thats very incorrect.

SDFs has expelled all of them even they had same enemy as SDF(ISIS).

SDF cant have people, which follow their own plans and even treat civilians, they dont like bad.

Jens Holm

But will SDF have them. The relations to FSA jihadists never has been well.

The ones that ‘defected’ to the SDF probably got the word they were going to Libya. Time to change uniforms….again.

I suspect that this could happen more and more the closer the SAA get to Idlib. These terrorists will soon learn that they are not going to get their way via the Turkish admin. The Turkish admin have recently been breaking agreements and stepping on the toes of others. So if the Turkish admin cannot remain friends with their ‘friends’ in nato, breaking their agreements with the Russian admin, attacking Libya, and stealing the resources of neighbouring countries, they ain’t going to make an exception for terrorists who remain loyal to noone.

The Turkish admin’s animosity with nato could be a ruse to give the Russian admin the idea that Turkey could be a future ally. The Turkish economy is crashing along with its currency so shysters do what shysters do and go to war to try and fix the economy at the expence of someone else.

Turkish-backed Syrian National Army escaping Ras al-Ain does seem to suggest that the Turkish admin is finding it hard keeping hold of their ‘moderate’ terrorists. The Syrian Obfuscation for Human Ripoffs mentions that the defectors could be working for SAA intelligence. However, they could just as easily be working for Turkish intelligence. Either way the truth won’t come from the Syrian Obfuscation for Human Ripoffs.

I’m sure this will be ironed out once the SAA liberate Idlib.
