Three journalists working for the Syrian state’s news channel were injured while they were covering a battle between the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Turkish forces in northern al-Hasakah.
The Syrian state TV said that reporter Fadel Hamad and cameramen Walid Ibrahim and Mohamad Khalid were targeted on November 9 by a battle tank of the Turkish Armed Forces. Hamad sustained a serious wound in his right leg, while the injures of Ibrahim and Khalid were less significant.
The Hawar News Agency (ANHA) released a photo of Hamad leaving Tell Tamr hospital after receiving treatment. The journalist was wearing a body armour with a clear “press” sign, that should have been noticed by Turkish forces.
The Turkish-led attack in northern al-Hasakah began in the early morning, with militants of the so-called Syrian National Army (SNA) attacking government forces in the region.
The Turkish Ministry of National Defence has not yet commented on the incident so far. The attack is a violation of international laws.
sna = turkish backed rebel
SNA headchopping Wahhabis, backed by Erdogan’s regime.
I seriously doubt that the tank commander would waste a shell on unarmed journalists. The three fools were just taught a lesson to stay a safe distance away from live fire zones. None of their injuries seem serious since all three are walking away.
Not so, this was deliberately done by a yank that operated by SNA Wahhabis under maybe Erdogan’s regime flag.
Dont belive into giving heavy weapons into jihadi mercenaries hands – if it was been tank, then it have Turhish regular army crew
Russia’s friend attacking another Russia’s friend ? or something like that ?
I dont like to back this Turkish agression but in this case when tankist fire on target at large distance (really dont know exact range but 500m is still far far away) then it will be very hard to read some PRESS text of vest if it is visible – and journalist can be hidden partly or in clore range on real target – because injured leg dont look as typical ingury from tank cannon
