On July 30, a Turkish combat drone carried out a strike on the southern countryside of the town of Kobane, held by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in northeastern Syria.
The combat drone targeted two vehicles on Kobane-Aleppo road as they were passing near the village of Qumagi. The two vehicles were badly damaged as a result of the strike. Nevertheless, no casualties were reported.

The Rojava Media Center shared photos from the strike scene showing the remains of what appears to be a MAM-L laser-guided small-diameter munition made by Turkey’s defense giant ROKETSAN.
Precision-guided munitions of this type are the main armament of all Turkish combat drones, including the Bayrakdar TB2 and the TAI Anka.

The Turkish drone strike may have been an attempt to assassinate a commander or an official of the SDF. The Kurdish-led group is yet to comment on the incident.
Turkish combat drones are targeting Kobane and its countryside on a regular basis. January 22, a strike hit a house on the Mumet road south of Kobane. On April 16, another strike targeted a house west of Kobane where Abdullah Öcalan, the leader and founder of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, once lived.

Looks like insufficient accuracy in these drone strikes, first vehicle mostly missed and the second vehicle, although more damaged, didn’t result in fatalities apparently.
