Turkish Drone Strike, Intense Shelling Targeted Civilians In Northeastern Syria (Videos)

On October 20, a Turkish drone strike targeted the outskirt of the northeastern Syrian town of Al-Malikiyah, which is controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

According to the SDF’s security forces, Asayish, the strike claimed the lives of Two civilians, who were passing near the village of Mazrah. The identity of the two victims was not revealed by the Kurdish-led group.

“Many drones of Turkish occupation forces have been flying over the cities of northern and northeastern Syria for a while now,” the Asayish said in a statement, “they target civilians and civilian facilities every once in a while.”

A few hours after the drone strike on al-Malikiyah, Turkish-backed militants launched a large attack on the town of Ain Issa in the northern Raqqa countryside.

No ground advance was reported. However, the town’s center was the subject of intense shelling by Turkish forces. A number of people were reportedly injured as a result of the shelling.

Last week, a 13-year old child was killed as a result of Turkish forces shelling on Ain Issa and its vicinity. U.S. Special Representative for Syria Engagement James Jeffrey condemned the shelling.

The repeated Turkish attacks on northeastern Syria violate two agreements Ankara signed last year with both Moscow and Washington. These provocations may soon lead to a new escalation in the region.

The Objective

Does this author knows how many civilians are dying from Russian bombings in Syria? How about writing one article about it? Especially when the Russian strikes are by far more frequent?
