Turkish forces have started entering Syria’s Idlib province under the previously reached de-escalation agreement in the area, the major Russian news agency Interfax reported on September 30 citing own source with knowledge of the situation.
According to the source, Ankara is now deploying units of own military police inside the Syrian territory, near the border with Turkey.
On October 1, the Turkish conservative newspaper Yeni Şafak reported that a convoy of armored vehicles, communications and military personnel vehicles arrived in Reyhanlı district near the Syrian border. The newspaper added that the reinforcements are aimed at strengthening security on the border with Syria. This was the recent in a series of Turksih military deployments in the area.
Turkey, Iran and Russia reached an agreement of establishing a de-escalation zone in Idlib province during the Astana talks in September. According to reports, the establishment of the zone will include deployment of Turkish, Russian and Iranian forces in the area.
If Interfax’s report is confirmed, the implementation of the agreement has de-facto started.

Assad has been stupid letting Erdogan take part of Syria. He will never get it back or maybe his great grandson will get it back, right at the same time Syria gets Hatay and Azaz back.
On the other hand, if he is giving away parts of Syria to another country that will never give it back, he should have no problems to a federal Syria. That way he still keeps some authority in that part of Syria instead of no influence at all.

The Russians gave them carte blanche to take between Kobani and Qamishlo and Afrin if the Kurds interfere with Turkey. The US has made the agreement already and they will have to abide by it so much for the US helping the Kurds in Syria or Iraq.
If Turkey play a role of a leader and bring peace and stability to the region then this is very important because on daily bases hundreds of innocent and stupid people lives are waisting.
Yeah. Syria might lose out on most of it’s Idlib & Raqqah provinces. Never the less, they are much better off than they were a couple of years ago. Even with the odds badly stacked against them, Syria has survived. That’s a miracle in itself.
Also, we might forget about an independant albeit small buffer state between Egypt, Turkey and Iran (the future regional players if the US Empire should fall) in the more distant future. But maybe Syria will survive against the odds this way yet.

Turkey have been provided with fake intel and have been tactical mislead into talking them to enter Idlib. They have kinda declined to enter after realizing how huge the sacrifice will be.
Both SAA and Russia are reluctant to enter Idlib due to knowlegde and experience because they know the place is extremely fortified, over trenched, over mined and to many tunnel systems.
Turkey could loss ridiculously large number of soldiers in Idlib. WHICH brings us back to why both SAA and Russia are unwilling to enter. plus the turk soldiers have not seen war in their lives and are not as battle hardened as the Russians and SAA who have been going for 7-years and imagine if they themselves are unwilling.
