637 ‘terrorists’ (members of Kurdish armed groups) have been neutralized since the start of Operation Peace Spring, the Turkish Defense Ministry said on October 16.
According to the defense ministry, Turkish-led forces have entered 30-35km inside Syria and are now developing their advance in the countryside of Ras al-Ayn and Tell Abyad.
The Turkish side says tha tthe current goal of the operation is to gain control of the entire M4 highway in the area between Tell Abyad and Ras al-Ayn. This means the sector linking Tell Abyad, Ras al-Ayn, Shrekrak and Laylan.
An interesting fact is that Turkish-led forces are not developing the operation in the direction of Kobani. It may appear that the town will be handed over to the Syrian Army.

It seems Putin agreed on Erdogan taking the chunk between Tell Abyad and Ras Al Ayn. That will be Erdocunts “save zone” for now.
If Turkey needs “save zone”, it must arrange it on its own ground, not at the neighbor’s territory.

But this will not allow syrian govenment take back own territory from kurds. So we have “safe zone” and turkish operation.
