The Turkish military and its proxies resumed their artillery strikes on Kurdish-held areas in the northern Aleppo countryside less than three days after suspending them.
According to the North Press Agency (NPA), the city of Tell Rifaat was shelled with artillery and mortar rounds in the afternoon of December 5.
Tell Rifaat, and dozens of towns and villages in its countryside are jointly controlled by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG). The city and its countryside host thousands of civilians, who were forcible displaced from Afrin due the Turkish attack on the area in 2018.
Three days ago, the Turkish military’s shelling on Tell Rifaat resulted in a massacre. Ten children were killed and more than fifteen civilians were injured. All the victims had been displaced from Afrin.
Kurdish guerrilla groups around Tell Rifaat launch attacks on Turkish forces in northern Aleppo on a regular basis. In the last few months, Kurdish attacks claimed the lives of dozens of Turkish-backed militants.
Turkey killing Syrian civilians, just like their proxies.
SAA please bomb and take out their artillery sites
