Turkish Forces To Withdraw From Last Two Posts Besieged By Syrian Army

Turkish forces will withdraw from the last two observation posts besieged by the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) in Greater Idlib, several pro-government and opposition sources reported on December 16.

The posts, which are located near the town of Tell Touqan in southern Idlib and on al-Eis hilltop in western Aleppo, are both being evacuated.

“The evacuation process began today, Wednesday, December 16,” a source told the Jesr Press. “Turkish forces initially headed to the village of Maarat al-Naasan in the western countryside of Aleppo.”

Al-Eis’ hilltop, which rises 365m above sea level, overlooks a long strip of the M5 highway which links Syria’s industrial hub, Aleppo city, with the country’s capital, Damascus.

Last week, Turkish forces withdrew from four observation posts between southern Idlib and western Aleppo, all were located along the M5 highway,

While Turkish is evacuating the posts besieged by the SAA and its allies, it is working to build a new series of posts in Greater Idlib. The new posts are located south of the Lattakia-Aleppo highway, known as the M4.

The limited Turkish withdrawal shows that Ankara fears a new confrontation in Greater Idlib. A confrontation in which Turkish posts will not spared the fight.

If only we were all so optimistic

JIMI JAMES

Being optimistic is not enough, faith without works is all dead, helps if some of these bravados warm up to the concept to begin to defend their own constituates if the got the guts, this will be evident and in usas case telling time where they can defend their own back yard instead of sprouting off a packa losers in guise of democracy, well this is the real acid test, not turkey, whom i may add are doing more logical moves than illogical ones particularly after they nearly fell victim to cia regime change?

By thec way there is a joint pact between russia and turkey and other regions to permit entering neighbours territory to eliminate cia/bushy teorrists indefinetaly, how is the same ran’t on like they think they know more about law than the truth? Just saying:

Kenny Jones ™

Look, the hard truth is only Russia can end Turkey, even if all the anti-Turkey countries formed a coalition, it would not be worth it since it would end in a stalemate like situation

JIMI JAMES

You and whos army gonna stop ’em? soros/cia/gulen,lgbtq,incest,nazi,eu-heterophobics,eu-epp,freemason,biden,micron,trump,You will lose huge like in ww1 over 200,000 under churchill, nowadays since you did the dog act ,turkey are doing more good than bad atleast, why complain?

They will leave once bushy trashed kurds respect the law of the lands, not the law of hegemon gimps, like it or lump it that’s just the way it is!I ain’t fond or turkey, but lgbtq n sht?

mhtsaropinigitakis

AND CYPRUS!! well said

Lone Ranger

CIA trolls and hasbarats are already crying and raging ?

Lone Ranger

Free Tampax for hasbarats…

He who laughs last laughs best

After all Turkey observation posts will be cleared, how much time before the new Idlib offensive?

The Objective

Idlib will not be taken by force of arms. Turkey is simply repositioning its forces in case of a repeat of the February incident in which Turkish soldiers were attacked unexpectedly. I don’t think there’ll be any such surprises this time. Some Bayraktars would be shot down, but this time, it’s very likely that Syrian anti-aircraft systems will be destroyed in such large numbers as to be indisputable.

Kenny Jones ™

Then the airport from where drones are launched will be struck, if they want to play it that way

The Objective

Turkey too can strike Syrian airfields. They got hundreds of precision missiles too. In such a scenario, imagine the setback Assad would suffer against ISIS and the rebels. Imagine the field day American and Israeli pilots would have on regime forces under the pretext of fighting ISIS.

Not all drones need a big open airport. Drone swarms can be launched from secret locations less than the size of a football field and without the usual airfield infrastructures.

Turkey’s deadliest drones are not the Bayraktars, but the small drone swarms they tested last year. I think the drone swarms are intended to deal with systems like Russia’s S400. They don’t carry big bombs and they are suicide drones designed to self-destruct into an enemy target. I think they fly in a swarm of 20 at a time or more. They are also too small for the S-400 to be able to deal with. The drones hone in on enemy targets automatically and can also rain bullets on troops.

Watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TqsLR-wcA8Q

RUSSIA’S S-400 CANNOT STOP THESE DRONES.

And Turkey has a swarm of 500 already I think.

JIMI JAMES

To date russia destroyed all drones of all kinds heading to their base(period) S400S,S300S are protected by the most advanced radar and capable munitions to eliminate all swarms in a jiffy, add to that emp capacity, you lose!

Now the relevance of technologys may be argued upon but to date where russia sets their gear it always remains untill its updated or refined, besides russia has the know how to deal with millions via thermal detterence=none!

Sorry I can’t imagine any of such, they came they saw and they failed(period)

The Objective

These drone swarms current cannot be effectively defended against. They are much more difficult to deal with than the bigger drones. These are small enough for a soldier to carry alone.

The drones that Russia had been shooting down since 2016 were mockups launched by rebels. Russia even captured some of those drones. But none resembles the one Turkey used to kill over 2000 SAA soldiers in March this year. I think those mockup drones were intended to locate weaknesses in Russia’s defense systems.

JIMI JAMES

Did you count the dead bodies,fk no! Syria made huge inroads despite turkey best, sure they are potent, but nothing like russian thermo tech,980 dead like that,no bullish numbers, just facts, speaking of which even iran got the measure on usas best, however when they nailed its hero, that was staged, planned and set via gps tracker, There were infact many a turkish drones shot down quick in other countrys not just syria, bottom line carefull what to wish for,may very well may gitit!

Assad will remain,my word vs yours:

Cromwell

Do you want Turkey hit with Iskander missiles?keep pushing asshole and it will get very ugly, best leave Syria then you will be safe with the women and kids.

Jim Allen

Russian EW stopped several drone swarms, and several drones were hijacked and landed by Russian drone operators. Off to Russia for some probing. Iran has dropped several US drones, a couple big ones, too. A Predator, one was over Iran at 60,000ft. Dropped with a domestically made missile system. Iran dropped several Israeli, and Turkish drones as the crossed into Iranian airspace, during the NK dustup. Iran is developing it’s own EW systems, and hypersonic weapons. Reported to be in service soon. Iran is selling some military technology, missile defense systems to Venezuela. Yes, sure, mock-ups. They’re called mock-ups, because they look real, but don’t operate. There are no drone swarms that cannot be successfully defended against. You’re just being silly.

Jim Allen

The Russian base is also defended by Syrian air defense forces, Syria’s S-300 is integrated with the Russian defenses. Courtesy MoD Shoigu. This allows Syrian air defenses access to S-400 radars. S-200, and Panstir are made to be integrated as well. S-200 has proven very effective, along with other Russian missile defense systems. Iranian missile defense systems are beginning to appear in Syria. Makes BiBi anxious.

Kenny Jones ™

Hundreds? The Iran resistance in in Syria alone has thousands of precision missiles and thousands more unguided, whole underground missile bases have been established in decades Drones are dangerous but the fact stands that they need a place to take off from, take out that place and they’re useless Missiles can be launched from everywhere, that’s why they’re more effective in war

The Objective

Not all drones need an airfield. Some can be carried and launched by a single soldier. I wasn’t comparing how many missiles Turkey and Iran have. I just wanted Sisi’s supporters to know that his 500+ Russian tanks are sitting ducks, and his airfields are highly vulnerable too.

Kenny Jones ™

Yea I’m not too optimistic about Libya either, I think it’s 50/50 whether the Turks will succeed there get the oil fields in an offensive

The Objective

I thik it’s 70/30 that Turkey wins in Libya.

Kenny Jones ™

Not so fast, there are still plenty of Su and Mig aircraft on the other side, which can do a lot of damage and even sink ships if needed

The Objective

Turkey is not alone there. Pakistan just started scaling up its activities in Libya. I think a sort of compromise must be reached in Libya. If the crisis culminates in a political resolution, then Turkey wins, because Haftar is almost certain to lose at the ballot.

Kenny Jones ™

How will Pakistan even reach Libya? Over Iran?

Jim Allen

What, Sisi has no air defenses ?

The Objective

Sisi threatened to invade Libya. Egypt has some air defenses. But most are old. the latest being the S-300. Besides, most are not mobile, but tanks need to move. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egyptian_Air_Defense_Forces#:~:text=Egypt%20has%20a%20modern%20system,systems%20and%20early%20warning%20radars.

Egypt’s AA systems won’t cope with Turkish drones if Sisi tries to invade Libya.

Jim Allen

Iran is a leader in drone technology. It’s not like they don’t have their own. Advanced technology. Forty two years of the harshest piled on illegal sanctions placed on Iran, by US Government failed to strangle Iran, the sanctions did slow progress. No where near so slow as US believed.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

They have to get to less than 50km away to effectively attack them with small suicide drones, so the terrorists won’t be launching them from where they are, they’ll have to sneak a little closer to launch them at the S-400’s. And if they can be launched by hand they won’t have much of a payload to deliver, I doubt they’d do much more than scratch the paint on the S-400 launch vehicles, they’d need to score a direct hit on a vulnerable location to take them out.

The Objective

Yeah, you have a point there. But I think there is enough payload to put the S-400 out of action if several drones ram into it.

viktor ziv

S-400 are not for swarms, those are for big toys. Jamming devices are for swarms. Beside Iskanders, U-Tochkas, Smerches will be used to put swarm operators into abyss.

The Objective

Your jamming obviously failed in N-K.

Kenny Jones ™

Something tells me Turkey is planning a two sided attack, both in Libya and Syria at the same time, they’re testing Russia’s readiness and patience by this The emptying of the OPs is so their troops aren’t taken hostage after it begins 2020 might end with a bang

mhtsaropinigitakis

i think they are focusing on lybia and abandoning idlib to russians

Kenny Jones ™

Then Russia sold Libya for Idlib, shouldn’t even be too bloody of a trade deal

Ice Icegold

Russia sold NK for Syria. Libya will be a blood lake for Turks.

The most visceral part of Syrian war will occur when Turkey release its final seal Level 0 which the release of all the souls Turks has devoured in corporeal form during Ottoman era..These forces wash over the Assad’s Last Battalion and as the one-sided carnage draws to a close Assad and its circle will reveal its trump card Helena’s nail.

Assad after stabbing himself through-out his heart with Helana’s nail will shout ”Look to my coming on the first light of the fifth day, at dawn look to the east.” Assad who is transformed to Gandalf now will bring peace to Syria and to all levant… https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/55f647c048bd1863fa167909987936c8b14fbaa8cb74badb1356eb545cca18f3.jpg

Then Erdogan turns evil, falling in love with the Ottoman throne and Gulen stabs him.

Turns out Turkey can do the worlds most substantial, heartfelt TV Show with real life substance. I thought nothing good comes out of Turkey excepting socks, but they apparently also can do the best TV Show with world-class story design and excellent actors. I’m hooked! Of course Full Respect Forever goes to Master Ibn al-Arabi! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4320258/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0

Paprika.

Erdogan maintains delusions of annexing Aleppo. Perhaps this prize was the carrot that rest of NATO dangled in front of Erdogan, to get Turkey as the operational forward staging base for NATO-Gulf State proxy war against Syria in 2012. But ole’ crazy Erdo just refuses to read the writing on the wall, that with Russian assistance Syria has effectively stabilized its institutions, and let that annexation fantasy go…

Ivan Freely

working to build a new series of posts in Greater Idlib

They’re not leaving.

Ice Icegold

Lol you already lost in Syria.

Ivan Freely

Tell that to Erdogan. He still believes he has a chance. The Turks will continue to do this until all of his proxies are dead.
