On April 26 afternoon, Turkish military helicopters flew to the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib to evacuate several service members that had been injured in clashes with al-Qaeda-affiliated Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and other terrorist groups.
The clashes erupted in the early morning when the Turkish military confronted radicals blocking the Lattakia-Aleppo highway, known as the M4. At least four radicals, including HTS members, were killed.
Following the clashes on the M4, the militants targeted a battle tank, an armored vehicle and a bulldozer of the Turkish military in an observation post near the town of al-Nerab with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).

The Turkish military responded to the attack, carrying out airstrikes on two positions of HTS in the town of San. At least two militants of the group were killed.
According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the Turkish military is currently in talks with Greater Idlib factions, including HTS, to de-escalate the situation.
The April 24 clashes demonstrate that many Idlib militants have little respect to Ankara despite the fact that they receive funding and weapons from Turkey.

History repeating itself is nothing new of course, but this escapade reminds me of the various English kings and queens ( Mega warlords ) of old, whose powers were challenged by minor warlords ( Lords and Barons) , and such fights were largely due to the minor warlords wanting more of the loot taken on behalf og the mega warlord from the civilians under their control.

Yes but HTS and Al Nusra only get the SNA/FSA/SFL/NFL hand me downs, the Turkmen opposition groups get all the good stuff first. I wonder if the Arabs fighting in the SNA/FSA/SFL/NFL realize the process Erdogan uses to hands out weapons will be the same process he uses to allocates resources for the new Ottoman Empire, the Turkmen will get the best and the Arabs what’s left. The Arabs fighting for the Turkish backed Turkman dominated/administered opposition forces like the SNA/FSA/SFL/NFL, don’t seem to realize that they’ll all become second class citizens in the new Ottoman Empire, so in reality they’re all fighting to help make themselves a second class majority in the new country/state they all envisage creating. Will this war begin to take on overtones of a Turkman versus Arab conflict, it should, that’s if the stupid Arabs fighting for the opposition start to pay attention to how Erdogan really treats the Arabs on his side, he rewards the good Arabs for loyalty but gives all the others scraps or nothing at all, LOL.

There’s lots of videos on the internet showing Turkish soldiers getting beheaded by ISIS, and that never did stop Turkey from supporting them. So don’t get your hopes up. Turkey is a terrorist state now, and the majority of its citizenry support this apparently.
I’m not buying this; they’ll kiss and make up. Somebody mentioned Pakistan in another post, drawing a parallel between Pakistan’s sponsorship of terrorism and Turkey’s. If you’re trying to make the point that Pakistan and its terrorists had a major falling out and ended up fighting each other, and that this is about to happen to Turkey, then you should probably know that’s a bad example, because this didn’t ever really happen. Pakistan’s sham offensives against “terrorists” in it’s own territory were nothing but a big show to ensure the US foreign aid didn’t get jeopardized. Send the army, shoot a bunch of ordnance at empty fields and shell the heck out of the hillsides, give militants plenty of warning and time to relocate, then declare victory and move on. Nothing changed on the ground and to this day, Pakistan continues to support terrorists in Afghanistan and India just as they have been for decades.
Turkey will do the same thing. Pretend that it’s not actually working hand-in-glove with jihadists, while continuing to support them on the ground. Turkey and Pakistan aren’t the only countries to play this game: remember the fake Obama air campaign against ISIS?
Fake wars are a legitimate foreign policy tool these days.
Turkeys are following the old CIA template that Pakistan obediently followed for over 40 years since Afghanistan-USSR era and then the Wahhabi backlash began and the same is happening in Turkey now as it becomes the regional terror central and is fanning its terror proxies from Iraq, Syria to Libya.
