The Free Syrian Army and its allied groups, supported by Turkish military, have been advancing southwest of Jarablus. Recently, the Turkey-led forces have captured the villages of Amarneh, Dabes, Bir Kousa and Eyn Bayda from the predominanlty Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
