Turkish-made rockets were used in a recent deadly attack on the Syrian city of Aleppo, the Abkhazian Network News Agency (ANNA) revealed.
The attack, which took place on January 16, claimed the lives of seven civilians and injured eighteen others, including children.
The ANNA released two photos showing the remains of one of the rockets which were used in the attack, a Turkish-made T-122 Sakarya 122 mm. The type used in the attack is one of the system’s earlier copies with a range of 20 km only.
The rocket, which was made in 2012, had its serial number wiped out, most likely to prevent anyone from linking it to the Turkish Armed Forces.

According to the Abkhazian agency, the rockets were launched by Turkish-backed militants from the key town of Khan Tuman, to the west of Aleppo’s city center.
Turkey’s support for militants in northwest Syria is not a secret. A day earlier, opposition sources revealed that Ankara had assured the militants that its support will go on, even demanding more support for them from Washington.
Facing this escalation by Turkey, the Damascus government appears to be closer than ever to resuming offensive operations against militants in the countryside of Aleppo.
