Turkish Military Established New Post In Syria’s Greater Idlib

On October 15 morning, the Turkish Armed Forces established a new military post in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib.

The post was set by a newly-deployed forces near the town of Qoqfin in the southwestern Idlib countryside. According to the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, this is the first Turkish post in that part of Idlib.

“Regime forces repeatedly attempted to advance and capture the town [Qoqfin],” the monitoring group said.

Qoqfin post is the Turkish Armed Forces’ 69th military installation in Greater Idlib. The region is ruled by a ceasefire that was brokered by Russia and Turkey on March 5.

A day earlier, a large Turkish unit, armed with battle tanks and howitzers, was deployed next to the town of Maratah in southwestern Idlib. No post was established there, however.

Turkey’s military buildup indicates that Greater Idlib may be heading to a new escalation. The remaining militants in the region are violating the ceasefire on a regular basis. It is possible that militants are preparing to launch a large attack in the region with Ankara’s support.

Willing Conscience (The Truths

69, lol, gee I’ve got a dirty mind. I remember when Putin first told us the new Astana agreement allowed Erdogan to build just 8 OB posts on Syrian territory, and yet 3 days before the announcement syrialiveuamaps showed a convoy of trucks travelling down to the first authorized location before they were authorized to be there, and about a week later syrialiveuamaps also showed us the locations of 4 other unauthorized OB posts, 12 in total instead of the agreed to 8, so Erdogan broke that agreement twice before it even started, and now we have 69 OB posts in total, mmm, Astana was a bad deal through and through. And Putin even promoted the next Turkish suggestion that the old Adana agreement/protocols [not to be confused with the Astana agreement] be reimplemented as well, luckily Assad said no way and gave legal reasons why they couldn’t be reinstated, otherwise Turkey would’ve not only gotten Russian authorization to remain on Syrian territory, they would’ve gotten Syrian Government authorization as well, and Assad wasn’t about to do that, F–k the Adana protocols and F–k the Astana agreements too, and resolution 2254.
