On April 9, the Turkish military established yet another “observation” post in the northwestern Syrian region of Greater Idlib.

The new post was reportedly established in the town of Jannet Elqora in the southwestern Idlib countryside. The town overlooks the M4 highway, which links the port city of Lattakia with the country’s industrial hub, Aleppo city.

Last week, the Turkish military established three similar posts in the towns of Baksariya, al-Z’ainiyah and Furaykah in southwest Idlib.

According to a new report by the UK-based Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the Turkish military has established 58 “observation” posts in Greater Idlib, so far. These posts are hosting hundreds of troops as well as heavy weapons.

These posts could help secure the M4 highway, thus implementing the March 5 Russian-Turkish agreement. However, it is still unclear if this is the main objective of Ankara, which may be preparing for a new round of escalation in Greater Idlib.

“could help”.. Aha, like peeing on a fire “could help” put it out, if not for the logs you were concurrently throwing into it.

Stop selling the jihadis bullets. There’s a fire without fuel.
