The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and its political wing, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), have found themselves in a complicated situation because the YPG’s “best friends” in Washington does not seem to be ready to stop Turkey’s efforts to pressure Kurdish armed groups in northern Syria.

On June 18, photos and a video appeared online showing a Turkish military patrol entering the area of Manbij, which is held by the so-called Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
HINT: The SDF is a brand created by the US-led coalition to hide military aid provided to the YPG and its affilates, which are described by Turkey as terrorist groups.
The photos showed in the psot are made at the al-Daadat check point, en route leading to Manbij. The town is currently controlled by the Manbij Military Council (MMC), a group originally established by the SDF. In early June, the YPG already announced that it had withdrawn its “military advisers” from Manbij. However, this is not enough to stop Turkey.
Ankara has repeatedly stated that Kurdish armed groups have to be disarmed and PKK-linked individuals have to be presecuted in northern Syria.
HINT: The PKK – the Kurdistan Workers’ Party – is a Kurdish separatist armed group invovled in a long-standing rebellion against the Turkish government. The YPG and the PKK are directly linked through their ideology, structure as well as members and commanders. The key difference is that the YPG has so far operated only in northern Syria.
This video is filmed north of Manbij:
Earlier this year, Turkey and the US officially announced that they had endorsed a roadmap for Manbij. Ankara describes it as a plan to force YPG and PKK-linked individuals and units to withdraw from the Manbij area and to establish a local governance not linked to the YPG/YPD there.
Turkish officials also stated that this is plan only a part of the wider efforts to disarm Kurdish militias in northern Syria. Earlier, the Turkish military defeated the YPG in a large-scale operation in the northwestern Syrian area of Afrin.

Next east of the euphrates
If I were the Kurds I’d start to worry about that too. The US abandoned them over Afrin, now Manbij….
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me, fool me a third time, I’m a friggin’ moron.
They were nothing more than cannonfodders, if you think the US will take some rag tag milita (Terrorists) over 60 years ally Turkey, you must go to the doctor.
I am on record here on Disqus as having said just that. Turkey may be a pisspoor ally to the West and the US right now, but when push comes to shove the US would still pick Turkey over the Kurds any time, rather then see Turkey leave NATO and become a Russian ally instead.
Putin and Erdogan are friends ! Fuck USA ! And long live Turkey that is cleaning Syria of PKK and YPG !
If Putin considers Erdogan a friend, as in an honest to god actual friend, my opinion of him immediately goes down the drain. With friends like Erdogan who needs enemies? If that fucktard were to walk past by me I’d immediately check to see if my wallet would be gone. That piece of shit is the most untrustworthy loose cannon in politics anywhere on this Earth. I can understand that for geopolitical reasons Putin needs to befriend Erdogan. But to actually consider this snake a friend? I’m told that a Russian proverb says that he who eats with the devil needs to use a very long spoon. For Putin’s sake I hope his spoon is as long as the distance between Moscow and Ankara.
or paid whores, who open the road to turkey against Syria. Why you think americans selling them out and what they do is in in full agreement with what they agree to do for the ones who pay the bills?
Kurds have beem betrayed more than that
Their offers were nothing but their well able bodies as boot in the grounds which obviously pale in comparison with what Turkey can offers. That’s what they get for trying the easy solution with US enabled hammers. They don’t built any Syrian political base, they neglected and thrash away the Syrian population. Now what ? Independence sold to US and it’s impossible anymore being a real political opposition without any Syrian population backers.
But you’d think at some point in time they would wise up.
stop talkig about kurds here or there or turks here or there………….ITS syrian territory. They are both terrrorists. The question is what does russia intend to do? Who was it that gave GREEN LIGHT to the fuckin turks on invading syria? Russia. And people here fuckin around with me for writing the truth.About this great plan of putin and that i will see how smart this plan is on “USING” the turks against the YPG/SDF hoping that one nato country wont go to war against the other. AND NOW???????????? this “plan” not only backfired, but hit the Syrian nation right in the butt. FACT SYRIA 2018…..Syria is now occupied by NATO forces in the north(turkey), in the east(usa and france), in the south/(usa), and the israelis in the west. Its the AGENDA that counts. A one world government with jerusalem as its capital under satanic jewish leadership. And they are all into it, usa, russia,eu,china etc…. ask yourselves which countries do not recognize the illegal entity called israel? yes, those countries are the ones being hammered now.
So now the upcoming SAA offensive(40,000+ soldiers) in the south-west daraa area.100% i can write already that SAA will get bombed very heavily by either nato airforce or israeli airforce, and that russia will as usual make press conferences and meeting at the UNSC on how bad and illegal nato/israels actions are. They did that over a dozen times while SAA gets bombed on a monthly bases in deir e zoor area, or while the nato airforce(choppers) brings and takes the different terrorists(isis/al nusra) from one place to another eg. terrorists daily transferred back and fourth from Al-Tanf to deir e zoor area.
Its the Agenda that counts.Everything else is for the so called donkeys.Like in poker. There is no ggod usa or bad usa, there is no good russia or bad russia. They have the same Agenda. Like a coin with 2 sides.Different sides, SAME coin. get smart
Take it easy with the tequila .fc….moron
I think potcracker2588 got an overdose of coke !
? lol ..
somebody heard david icke talk haha
Syrians have already lost that territory. Turkey will never with draw
So Putin should start WW3, and if he doesn’t he’s a wimp and a traitor. I can’t believe you’re not a 5 Star General! :D
kurds in manbij are relocated to east of euphyrates where a kurdish state may be formed. us/nato will keep control of manbij. so no loss for kurds or us/nato. I think this is designed to favour erdogan in forthcoming Turkish elections (24 june).
No kurdish state is being formed.they had no support to hold kirkuk they wont have any here either. Theyre just being used to create chaos and wear down syrian resistance.
hope so
Lol what Turkey did and get in manbij exactly is to kill any chances of Kurdish quasi state being formed. US caves in and let Turkey have it. Now it really depending on the Kurds side whether they can offered something worth more than US – Turkey strategic relationship.
TURKEY FIGHTING ALONG SIDE WITH USA
Oy, Southfront’s tedious propaganda… where to start. Hint: Turkey is a NATO member. As such, the US have paid and supported the suppression of Kurds in that country for ages. The YPG has existed long before the US got involved in Syria (more directly, militarily). The SDF is actually an ingenious formation, a coalition of Kurds, Arabs, Syriacs etc. Certainly has nothing to do with the US. The insinuation that it was need for the US to send weapons is bollocks… the US (and European powers) have given arms to the Kurds openly, no ‘excuse’ needed’. So that’s conspiratory talk where none is needed. As I’ve said multiple times, the US couldn’t care less about Kurds, and those Kurds no it… they just use the brief period where they got some equipment. Of course the US would side with Turkey… yes, a long standing NATO member etc. Stop denigrating Kurds and withwashing the shameful abondoning of some of Syria’s citizens by Russia, Iran and the Asad ‘government’.
Just like Nazis rolling into western Russia in 1941. Their day will come soon enough!
