Turkish Observation Post In Western Aleppo Targeted For The Second Time In A Day

Military situation in Syria’s Greater Idlib on September 13

Late on September 12, the Turkish military observation post in the town of Xezwe in northwestern Aleppo was attacked, once again, by Kurdish forces.

According to the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Kurdish forces fired several shells at the Turkish post from their positions in Qala’at Kaluta near the town of Kabāshīn. No losses were reported.

A few hours earlier, a rocket strike carried out by Kurdish forces hit Xezwe post, resulting in serious material losses. A number of Turkish service members were also injured.

The Turkish military responded to the strike by shelling Kurdish forces positions in the towns of Aqiybah, Sughanka and Burj al-Qas.

The attacks on Xezwe post were likely carried out by the Kurdish People’s Protection Units, YPG, or the Afrin Liberation Forces, ALF.

Xezwe post is one of many established by the Turkish military in Greater Idlib over the last two years. These posts were supposed to “observe” the ceasefire in the Syrian region. However, Ankara recently turned the posts into fortified bases armed with heavy weapons.

SAA has show them that it takes only one direct hit on Turk “observation post” to do the job… So Kurds are now trying to imitate…but not so successfully, unfortunately.

Very good thing to see Turkish observation points in jeopardy. Very good job against budding Turkish imperialism.
